Hi All,

We have decided to sell up in Sydney and move to Orange.

We will get the house on the market ASAP, and at the latest we will all be there the middle weekend of the next school holidays.

Cannot wait.

Now, anybody know of anyone hiring in Orange or Bathurst? I sort of need a job  ;D

Might need some ugh boots and An Eskimo suit as well Bunyip.  Orange will freeze the balls off a brass monkey.

Bunyip

Hi Muzza,

We are the crazy people that decide to holiday mid-winter in Tasmania. Cold doesn't bother us, you can always put on more clothing, there isonly so much you can take off without being arested.  ;D

Enjoy the change, there will be plenty of opportunities to take out the camper.

But honestly, I really think you'll miss the daily Sydney grind in the Traffiic.

There's nothing like having to travel 10km and it only takes 45mins to get there on a good day.

Tassie might be cold in winter, but you don't get golf balls falling from the sky. lol

Great area, good luck with the move.

Hope it goes well for you. I love Orange as a town, it has a sense of class and elegance. More members out west just means we'll run more trips west of the range.

Good luck with your new adventures. We are considering the same thing. We have friends in Orange so it sort of helps the decision but still alot to think about.

Bunyip

Thanks guys,

We have been talking about wanting to do this for years, but with good jobs and kids in school it was never the right time.

Little Miss 13 wants us to move immediately and is champing at the bit to start packing the house.

Master 19 is happy to be getting away from Master 21.

Master 21 is upset because he will have to cook his own food and do his own washing.

The Furkid seems to know somethign is up because he is a little more restless than usual. Could be imagining it, perhaps we just haven't played enough fetch with him of late.

Bunyip,

Congratulations on your move, we made the tree change from Adelaide 10 years ago next month, best decision we ever made :cup:

Recently had to go back to have some minor surgery and adelaide traffic ??? (Yes an oxymoron I know) was to much for me. I travel 30km to work in the next town 20 mins door to door.

Ahhh the space we enjoy , cities have too many people trying to breathe the same air for me  8)

Good luck with the move Bunyip.
Was through Orange camping with the billy lids about 3 years ago, one it seemed like a genuine 'city' to me, in terms of cultural facilities etc.  There aren't too many places like that.   Also well located for touring central N.S.W.
Orange and Bathurst are 2 places I could easily live I recon.

Well spoken Speewa158    (Mothers day Breaky)  I  live in a small community, this morning the men cooked breakfast and waited on the tables, did the dishes etc for all the mothers in the town for their special day,   Living and being involved in a small town has its benefits.

Good luck, moving to that rectum town. Over inflated house prices, enormous rent, drug problems, burglaries  :police:
Sounds just like most towns near a mine  ;D ;D Not really a convenient location if you like central/north coast holidays though :)

My brother lives there, works for an electrical company contracted to Cadia. Expensive place to live, cold and crappy weather, but a nice sized town, so theres plenty to do if you are prepared to get off your behind.

He purchased his 1st Camper Trailer yesterday, but does a bit of camping at Carcoar, Burrendong, Burrinjuck, Windermere and Long Point.
As with every town, it will be what you let it be. Surround yourself with good people, and you will love it. Just make sure you have enclosed / undercover parking for all vehicles and trailers. Not totally for security, but so they aren't covered in ice and snow when you want to use them.
Cheers,
Mick

Bunyip

Mick,

Thanks for the honest feedback, I supose it is horses for courses.

We are joiners so will join the cricket club, netball club, scout group and probably the RFS or SES. We tend to meet like minded people.

The weather is not an issue for us (or at least we don't think it will be), we love the cold.

All towns have their issues.
