Changing the rear indicator light on Jayco swan?

So how do you do it? Our rear indicator isn't working, weird as I thought they would last longer than that, our right one works fine & brake lights work sim assuming its the bulb or leds. I think it is leds. We unscrewed the casing & the whole light lifts off & there is wires leading into the camper with no end, well we don't wanna pull too hard. But what i don't get is I can't see how to remove the led panel from the plastic casing? Do you need to purchase a whole new indicator?
Has anyone else had this & what do you do?

Are there any connectors close to the light that are exposed to the weather, that's where I'd be looking first.

They could have corroded or the connector is loose, or a crimped connection to a plug or socket could require a drop of solder to improve the crimp, or the connector may need to be disconnected, given a bit of a blow out to get rid of dust and dirt that has made the socket and plug in the connection become 'dry'.

Also check your trailer plug, I've had problems with the round plug put on by Jayco, as soon as I spread the terminals a bit gets it working again.

Plus 1 for Flanders suggestion.
Mate had the same issue on his van a few weeks ago. Ended up being the cable for the indicator had come loose in the trailer plug.
LED lights would start to fail individually, I would think, and you should get more than 12 months out of them, that is one of the reasons tio use them.

Check the trainler plug (both sides, car and van) and see how you go..

You cannot beat a multimeter to find out where the fault is.  I suggest you read up on it in the electrical section and get one and use it.  It is pointless and expensive to replace led tailights if it a loose earth wire (or similar) in your trailer plug.

Recently sorted my tail lights on an old Jayco Dove.  I ended up replacing the lights with a set of led tailights because the existing ones were the cheapest bits of tinny c#$%p that let in water and were solid rust and the lightbulb had got wet while hot and cracked.
but I also did have a cable fault that I found quickly and soldered back up.

I also had the left indicator not work, prised open the connectors and all good.

If the trailer plug suggestion does not work it may also be worth a look under the rear on the drivers side.  There is a galv / metal pressed guard and under that guard is the connections to the rear lights.  If its like anything else electrical on the Jayco's then it may be worth a check.

Hi, sorry to resurrect an old topic but I have the same issue with my right indicator. It doesn't work, however when I unplug it from the car (8 flat pin) and then plug it in again it usually works the second time! I just thought the bulb was on its way out but now I'm thinking it's something else. I'll admit when it comes to electrics I have literally no clue so even after reading this thread Im confused what to check. Should I just hire an electrician? It's not too bothersome at the moment but I'm just worried it could stop working whilst on the road which could lead to dangerous situations. Thanks

Get a small screwdriver and pry open the pins a little mate
