Not even remotely CT related but anyway;

Decided to dump Telstra as they were way over the top expensive for our home broadband and found the whole process of choosing a new provider a nightmare.

Even researching online the buggers would email you or phone the number when you check whether you can get the service and they just wouldn't let up.  Pushy sales too - "I sign you up now okay" seemed to be the common catchphrase.

Finally found Internode and gotta say they were really great.  Call centre was helpful and not pushy in any way and sounded local.  Happy for no contract, byo modem and easy churning.  (I sound very knowledgable hey  8) )

Signed up, they sent me an email to say it was ready, replied to the email in link and within the hour the change was made.  Got a new router because telstra coded the Thomson one so only geeks can use it by changing the firmware (  8) ) , plugged it in, typed user name and password and all done.

Saving over $60 compared to Telstra.

Sweet!

Been with internode for about two years now. Very happy with the internet service, but the VoIP service sucks. Echo on the line, incessant clicking in the background as well. Not sure if this is due to configuration of the router or copper line.

We didn't worry about the voip as we have that many damned iphones in the family we just use them.  Sounds like we did the right thing!

We had Internode at home for years and can strongly recommend them. A different provider now due to politics but that is a different story.

Pricing was always pretty good and service was top notch. Dont know if it is still the case but whenever I did have to call for something I was dealt with in Australia by native English speakers

Hi,
I'm told that you can stream digital radio from Internode without affecting your download total.
(info about 12 months old, so I'm not sure if it is still applicable)
cheers

True, but only selected stations, like ABC and a few others

Had internode for many years, but got expensive, had telstra for phone and internode for net, combined both and went to a 200gb / home phone bundle with iinet (they own internode now) and saved about $50 / month

We have had internode since 2008, they have been awesome. They helped me out this week after we reformatted my computer. They helped and fixed my issues even though it wasn't a supported modem and also gave advice for my upgrade.

They have been great.

Can't beat internode - they figureded out a bizarre Internet issue I sporadically had in one email unlike another Internet company never could after 12 months of attempting to. Turns out faulty modem known issue by then it was way out of way out of warrenty.

We have just put the home phone withe them instead of telstra after they decided to put a call bar on the line with a $50 and a new bill not due for 4 days without reminding us about the overdue one.  My husbands mobile will go to them as we'll once he buys a new phone.

We've been with internode for a few years now and would highly recommend them. Same as others they have sorted issues for us in the past that they really had nothing to do with them. We also have our home phone with them and haven't had any issues although we only use it for incoming calls due to our mobile plans.

Both Adelaide providers internode and Adam are very very good. Can't fault either.

I was so impressed I got naked with Adam.

We cannot get ADSL at any decent rate as we are right on the edge of the exchange, therefore speed degredation means we get less than ADSL spped no matter what.

We have cable and it has got heaps better since the intro of ADSL, our cable segment seems to be pretty empty.

Contention free eh! I don't have the option of cable, am on an ADSL1 rim 5.5 Kms from the exch and lucky to get 2.1meg most of the time. Lucky to have that as a large proportion of our estate cannot get anything other than dial up as the rim is short of ports.
Not even the fact our Telstra account manager lives across the street from us can get us upgraded.
And we are not even on the NBN map yet.
Aaarrghhh!
And I worked for Telstra for 27 yrs.
And yes I have the node as my provider (on a Telstra port) . Have been reasonably happy with them.

We have some real problems when cable first came to the area, I spent more time troubleshooting the cable network with bigpond than I did surfing the web.

Contention has educed to the point that I don't notice any speed differences and the speed is always great (except when the son has blown the 200Gb limit).

Pretty soon cable and fibre will go the way of the dinosaur......like cassettes, floppy disks, CDs and VHS.

Lucky Malcolm will fix that with a nice green box up the road. I actually like the idea as more 'Hard Working Australians' will actually get ADSL rather than those already having it , just get more. Yea call me cynical but you don't have to provide Tele-Health up in this part of the world where we pay 15K a Moth for a 1 + 1 service with a 2:1 contention rather than NBN's 30:1. Then do;t get me started on the latency that APPARENTLY they forgot to mention to all those 'Hard Working Australians' when doing the big sell.

Arh, that's better  ;D
