Hi Everyone,
We are looking at buying a Trigg Hitch. Any information on this hitch would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Suziq.

A fair amount of discussion was had here about hitches last month, might pay to have a read to ensure you get what you pay for.

I had a Treg hitch and changed up to a DO35 for ease of use.

Trigg and treg are very similar but different companies.

Is this the style you are asking about?

TRIGG

TREG

A very popular and credible trailer hitch.  Beware of Chinese copies.  they are much cheaper and sold as Treg or trigg style hitches.  If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I would not thought these copies would be much different.
I was having a look at broken/failed Chinese versions of these at Taylors Trailers (no association) in cairns recently.

This is a poll on whom uses what brand on this site.

Had a tregg, changed to a DO35 which is great to hook up.  The tregg was ok to tow with but difficult to hook up as you had to have it perfectly aligned to move back in the U bolt section, can be a finger biter if not careful.

I have the TRIGG hitch, never had an issue with hitching or unhitching, it's now 9yrs old, still all good.

TRIGG or TREG you can't go wrong.

The owner of TREG is the brother of the owner of TRIGG, the two brothers started TRIGG Bros, just some useless trivia ;D

Keep an eye out for the copies though, Tregg and Trig, both of which are inferior copies, hard to spot the difference, other than the spelling, but are not made anywhere near as well.

A simple & great hitch.  Even easier if you have a reverse camera  ;D

That said, one thing that annoys me is the receiver that bolts onto the tongue of the tow bar tends to slightly move to the side during travel.  My Nissan tongue is a little thinner and hence there is slight lateral movement.  Nothing dangerous but ends up on a wee angle!

I reckon the McHitch looks a handy bit of gear!

I'm the same as Baz, and mine has copped a lot of hard treatment, You get what you pay for. I saw a cheaper version drop a trailer onto the road in the flinders....

Easy to line up keep it greased and it last you for years.

Agree that the poly block is a perfectly good hitch, however the OzHitch is, IMO, far easier to hitch single handed, especially off the black top.
