Spent the Easter break in the High country around Mt Buller, holy moly there was some people in that area, we ducked up to Craig's hut on Saturday morning, by lunch time the place was completely parked out, like Bunnings on a sat morning...
Camped at Pineapple flat and had a ball.
Any one else in that area over the Easter break ?

Yes Speedcomm,

we were camped at Bindaree Hut and had lunch up at Craigs Hut on Saturday. It was  very very busy. Had a top weekend though, it was our first visit to the area in a 4WD. Did some hiking up there many years ago.

There was a few of us camping just outside of Mansfeild over easter and we visited Craigs hut on the Sunday and there was a traffic jam in the car park
There is no problem that cannot be solved by the use of high explosives.

Was there as well on Sunday and couldn't get near coooeeee of the hut. Had to land the 80 on clear hills trk. Camped at Bindaree for a few days and had some nice company turn up an hour after we got there (JCAT) was great to meet you and family mate. Was pleasantly surprised as there were only half a dozen or so of us camped there all weekend.
They grated the last couple of Kms along the howqua into Bindaree making it a lot easier for soft roaders to get in. All they need to do now is build a bridge over the crossing and it will turn into another sheepyard  >:(
It was quiet funny though seeing people to cross the howqua in their soft roaders at 200 miles an hour and nearly tear the chassis apart on the exit  :D

that's normal for a long weekend up there. I've seen Craigs Carpark blocked there was so many people there.

Time to find some more remote huts nobody knows about I think.

I saw one couple in three days where I was camped, nice and peaceful. Some weekends are fine and others are busy, you can never pick it unfortuantly

yea, Im talkin bout huts to visit. Last few times to Craigs has been packed.
Yet rarely see people up at Bluff or Lovicks or Upper Jamo.

Wouldn't mind doing a blokey swag weekend exploring other huts/areas.

There were plenty at bluff on the weekend As well, but not many at Lovicks at least when we were there. The weather was sublime when we were at lovicks too, not a breath of wind and the sun was blaring. Would've loved to roll the swag out again. What a great spot :cup:
