Hi!

I'm new here so I thought that I would I introduce myself :) My name is Michelle, and I've just bought my first camper trailer - a Blue Tongue Off Road Deluxe.

We have a young family - it's my hubby and I, and our two young kids ages 4 & 2.

We bought ourself a used Oz trail Chateau 10 tent in January and started camping every other week. We weren't sure how the kids were going to go, but they absolutely love camping!  There was a little too much hassle and stress trying to put up the Chateau 10 and manage the kids after a long drive, and so we thought that we would look into a camper trailer seeing as how we all love camping so much and wanted to continue doing it often.

We started looking through the forums and reading the reviews. Like most, we were on a budget for our first new camper. So, if we went and checked out a few of the budget campers, and then went to a camping show. The trailers we were most interested in, disappointed us. We then came across Blue Tongue and fell in love with the tent and also saw that the trailers were really well built - this was the camper for us. We put a deposit down for a new trailer that weekend, and because we were excited for went home to read more about them. People on the forums kept saying to buy a used camper trailer, and as there was a lot of savings to be had. So, I started looking at used Blue Tongues and found one on Ebay. It was a higher end model than the one we put the deposit on, and with a better trailer and more features. The trailer on Ebay was just over a year old, and just over half the price of the new one. So, we bought it and cancelled our order for the new one.

I'm sitting here under the awning at my first weekend away with my Blue Tongue Off Road Deluxe, and and couldn't be happier. It was a beauty to tow, sooooooo easy to set up, tonnes of room for us and the kids, and a great quality tent.

The kids are waking now, but so it's time to go and enjoy the rest of our weekend camping...

Nice to meet you :)

Welcome Michelle and family sounds like a great story of finding the camper to make things easier for getting out and about.  As we are now on holidays we decided to skip the long weekend (VIC) crowds and head off probably Tuesday for 5 or so nights cant wait

Welcome Michelle and family.  Looks like a great setup you have there.

Hey there, how do you find your blue tongue trailer in the rain? Mine gets wet inside every time it rains and it's driving me crazy! Also a lot of the stitching is falling apart, the guy rope attachment points are very weak, not really strong enough to use.

GeeTee

Welcome! Nice tow tug - it wouldn't even notice the trailer is there!

Michelle, that's a great first post - nice to meet you too.  I'm not that familiar with Blue tongue campers - how about a few more pics?

Cyclone_swell - Sorry to hear that. We haven't had any issues with leaking as of yet in our CT. We did have one night while we were away that it rained during the night for a few hours, and it didn't leak.  We haven't been out where it's been bucketing down for days yet (and I hope we don't!) so I will keep you posted. Is it possible you're setting up the tent too tight (causes the seams to stretch and allow water through the stitching) - we did that with our last tent and it leaked where the previous owners swore up and down that it didn't leak. Because we bought the CT second hand, we inspected every nook and cranny, and there aren't any issues with the seams or stitching.  The zippers are a bit sticky, but nothing that a little silicone powder won't fix.

GeeTee - love the Disco - you're right, you don't even know the CT is there!  Such a beaut!!

TheTaylors - Love seeing other females on here too!!! When do you get yours???

GGPatrol - Thanks for that!  Only problem is - we want to run away camping every weekend now!!!

Petermac - These are for you   I don't have pics of the inside yet - but will take some while we're away for Easter weekend.  I love that the CT is modular - so you can put up as much or as little as you see fit for each camping adventure!!  Sunroom walls come in 3 pieces as well, which is great!
