Just had a quote form ARB for the dual wheel Carrier (Colour Coded) A warn winch to replace the non working tiger one. Tried for side steps to but apparently they do not have them to go with the Sahara bar. $6351 (carrier and - ouch.......

Opoosite lock was a better $5550 including the side steps for there brand.

Any recomendations of anywhere else to get quotes from.

Also are the opposite lock products any good.

Yep,
Not cheap, but I wouldn't have any other bar(s) on my LC200 (this is my 2nd LC200 and 9th Landcruiser over the years).
Been an ARB fan since 1986...  Engineered and manufactured here in Australia by Australians.  You might pay extra for ARB stuff, but its well engineered, tested and proven over many years, and I've found their after sales service excellent...

That all said, it may not suit your requirements, and there are definitely other products out there - some imported, and others made in Australia!

Here's my setup...

It hurts when they give you the price eh!!!!

Did the quote include replacing your suspension to cope with the extra weight?

I've got a Kaymar rear bar only cause I got it cheap off e-bay, but they are stupid heavy. Even worse with 2x swing arms on them.

Bloke I have lunch with on Fridays works for OL, and has good things to say about most of their gear.

My advice is sit back and work out if you really need them. I wouldn't do it again... I've never needed 2 spares to start with.

YMMV.

How about this bull bar? It's on my daughter's boyfriend's ute

Fozzle

And you let him go out with your Daughter..

Brave man!

In all seriousness though.. Why on earth.. It looks ridiculous.

I'm guessing he works up on the snow fields making sure the roads are clear of snow and safe for us to drive on. What a great bloke!  >:D

Going back to basics - sort of ...

briann532

I generally keep my cars for about 5 years

So I figure if I have to spend 10K on it to set it up how I like, it does hurt, but when you break it down.............

5 years = 260 weeks.
So $10,000 / 260 = $38.46 per week.

We never hesitate to pay that for beer     and some............... :'( :'( :'(

I also reckon it will never add resale value, but it certainly makes it easier to sell the car when the time comes and the bits might fetch a bit of value....

Cheers

Got a quote from TJM after I posted, they no longer make wheel carriers so they use kaymar ones. Price difference between them only $100

This is forming part of my justification

We go our GXV at a great price with out even taking into consideration the extra stuff on. I looking at the market prices we should easily be able to $6000 odd thousand dollars more than we paid especially if we add these things. Realise when selling Brands eg ARB can be a big selling point.

Suspension right to go and one of the wheel carriers is for the camper trailer wheel (will probably remove for Surburan driving.)
Are considering the jerry can holder instead of the second carrier for weight purposes.

At least its unlikely she will get trouble from other guys when he is around. He could potentialy also be compensating...............

LB, is be happy to have a look at your winch. There is only a few things that will cause it not to work and most likely it's just a wiring problem with the controller.

PM me your number if you're keen.

liney

Have an Opposite Lock twin wheel carrier on my 100 series and am very happy with it.

GGV8Cruza

Have one on the Patrol and it is very well constructed. One wheel and a twin Gerry can holder. Reasonably cheap compared to some of the other brands. Not too sure where you are located but razler make some rear bars for different cars that look pretty good

I am looking for a rear bar with wheel carrier.
I was going for the ARB model, but the sales person told me that they have over 150 moving parts and needed lots of adjusting at a regular basis.
Does others with the ARB have this issue?
Particular with a LC100.

My twin carrier is not an ARB brand its Ironman.  i know its not the same as the ARB one but 150 moving parts WTF?
Even counting each and every roller in the bearings couldn't add up to 150.
I have adjusted mine twice in four years, both times after a Cape trip. Only takes about an hour to pull off the two wheels, remove the swing arms, clean out/repack the bearings and adjust the locks.
