30 years ago my father and I purchased a pool table.
8 by 4, Italian slate, English cloth, a piece or art.
And bloody expensive for a 20 year old just earning a crust. I only paid about a 3rd.
The old man looked after it, still has the original cloth in good condition. Some marks on the mahogany(teeth marks from a niece years ago).
Parties,BBQ's, birthdays and Christmas. It was well used. I used to play a backyard snooker comp using this table and 7 other home tables. Some of those were an experience.

In the last month I renovated down stairs. Paint, tiles, the lot.
2 weeks ago, over a beer or 2 I asked the old man if he had finished with the pool table yet.
A bit of a grumble and mumble was the reply.
The next day he rings and says I can have it.
The move was done today. In and leveled by 11am.

I get home from work at 3 to find eldest daughter has 4 friends over playing pool.
I did mention something about a sixpack as entry, but none of them are 18 yet.
Soon though.

Hey ,I want a turn. Not a hope.
By the time it gets to my go I won't be able to see straifgt. I can't now.

What to do?

Mate, how good is that.  Encourage your daughter and her friends.  Better she is at home than out somewhere that is not safe.  At least you know what they are up to (not saying she will be up to no good but I hope you get what I mean).

At least you got it at a really good price , l paid $600 for a pool table to have it come with the house . The bloke wanted 1G told to take it with him or accepet my offer . Should have just gone to the pub & stood around waiting for my turn . Played 2 games  in 18 months & had 3 shots but mods of grog in waiting  l still own a pool table though

You've had a real win there mate.  Your daughter will be respected by all blokes for being able to play pool well, and will become a shark at the pubs!  She'll earn herself lots of free drinks for it!

Mind you, there are very few pubs that still have pool tables in them.

I've had a pool table since 1984. Used to use it quite a lot but over the last 10 or 15 years usage has dropped to virtually nothing. Currently used as a storage area. Anyone want to buy a slightly used 8' x 4' slate pool table in good condition?
