we've been doing this exact thing for about 5 years now, and it hasnt toppled over once, sometimes you have to be picky where you put the beds though.  Kids are now 8 and 7 and have been climbing in and out by themselves since they started sleeping in them, so no worries about sturdyness.  We too stole borrowed got the idea from Vacation Campers when we bought our camper from them 5 years ago.

Hi All
Before I run off to the local camp shop to grab 2 x sets of the Ozetrail bunks ( 4 x beds) I want to check if they are still proving to be OK, that is, left set up, remove the legs and allow them to roll over to the side for storing op top of the mattress.
The better half want to trade up from the 3 x small size kids stretchers, to the bunks so she has a place to put some bags, teddy's etc off the floor on the spare top bunk.
Are these proving to be OK still for folding over and standing up again with out causing troubles?
Thanks
Dave

We've had ours for years, and they were second hand when I got them. Work well, easy to store, versatile as they can be bunks or separate beds.

Dave,

Look at the Outdoor Connection bunks before you commit to the Oztrail ones (a few members have mentioned them in this topic).

I have a pair of them and what I think is great is that you can flip the ends over to reduce their 'footprint' when not in use by almost half.

Also worth mentioning that for families with three kids, a pair of bunks is a better idea than one bunk and one stretcher, as you get the spare top (or bottom) bunk to use for holding bags of clothes etc, which helps make the most of the space inside the tent.

I hadn't seen the idea Jonesy posted up before today! Top stuff, I am going to mod mine before the end of the week :)

Before you run out to the local camp store nd but some, consider buying mine. I have a set of spinifex bunks for sale ..... Oh wait, you're in Queensland :(

Anyone else want to buy them? They're brand new. Never used

That is the exact reason why the better half wants them.

I have looked at your Add, and wondered how to get them here before the holidays. My Dad lives is Sydney and drives up some times, but not in the near future sadly.

Try swag mail. For sure there will be a member driving from Sydney to GC/Brissie soon.

We got the outdoor connection bunks. Used them at Easter. We store them on the bed flat when packing up. Works a treat. :D

We will be at the my swag national meet which is in a couple of weeks near grafton. As BigJules said try swag mail, maybe someone can get them from there to you or maybe someone can get them from Sydney to Brisbane before that. (Having said that tho, there's only 1 set left)

We'll be back home from the week trip by then, so I wont be able to catch you.
I'm thinking of haggling the local guy for a package deal, need the bunks, mattresses and a Water Heater.
