Isn't this the same mob who got bailed out by the Fed. Govt. a while back? Where the f*ck is the cranky icon thingy too.
Oh, there it is....  >:( >:( >:(

Yeah, i know how sponsership works and all that crap......

So i'm out mowing folks lawns in 30+ degrees heat to pay tax to support this and all the other scams and crap.

Stuff me sideways at breakfast time, just reduce the cost of the cars by $10 mil over three years, i bet you'd sell plenty.
I DON'T CARE HOW NICE THE HAND SOAP SMELLS.....

You should never walk out of the public toilets sniffing your fingers.

And what's so unique about Holden? Just about every large business in the country has benifited from some form of govt (tax payer) handout-tax break-import/export incentive etc etc etc. So should they ALL stop sponsoring/advertising? Pretty soon there'd be no businesses left at all..
Cheers, John.

Not worried about them spending sponsorship $$$, but the Holden Collywobbles!! That hurts

Eddy can go everywhere in an SS now.

I like this comment:

"Smart move by Holden. Collingwood fans would never have sufficient cash to buy a Lexus. The only way for them to aspire to driving one was to steal one...which was always a possibility.

Now, many of the magpie army can realistically aspire to driving a Holden. Many already do, owning a Camira, a VL Commodore, or Torana. I'm sure many have ridden in a new model Holden, whether it be a squad car, or a divisional van."

Toyota are sticking $20mill into the AFL for 3 years. Why is a new Tundra in the US $30 grand? Cars here are to expensive..

Hi Guys,
It would certainly be a bitter pill to swallow when you have been laid off (voluntary retrenchment) by either Ford or Holden while knowing millions of dollars are leaving the company in the form of sponsorships. I know this generates advertising, but if the product is good, how much do you need.

Closer to home, take JAYCO. The amount of money that Jayco backs the horse racing, sport of kings, apparently, must be absurd. Stop the flow of that money out of the company and put it back into the product by the use of better quality materials, processes, staff training and so forth. Dough, silly me, a better quality product for the same price? Yes the product looks ok from the outside, has some great features, but quality is replaced by quantity of sales. No, I'm not a happy Jayco camper at present and to know that my hard earned money goes to horse racing, just about makes me cry.

Sponsorship like advertising is an important part of a companies marketing strategy. Why aren't you getting all angry at the money they spend on advertising, they do heaps of those as well?

People will whinge about anything

I'm not winging about it, but I think the complaint is about the fact that they needed to be bailed out with govt assistance, but have 10 million to spend on advertising.....

Advertising is a essential component of an effective business.  It is a necessary expense.  $10 million, sounds like a lot but it really is a small portion of their revenue.

I don't believe that Holden required a bailout from the government, but were given incentives to keep their factories in Australia.  Those incentives, were required to compensate for the larger wages they need to pay here compared to overseas.

So they should stop all advertising until when? How do you imagine they will compete without advertising?

They don't spend that much on this sponsorship and would it be a shame to promote a healthy outdoor sport. Don't come back at me about the Lance Armstrong crap neither. The Tour Down Under travels through some wonderful country side, unlike the V8 Super Cars and I am a huge fan of this series!  ;)

This race is part of the world cup series or whatever it is called and that in itself is worth heaps to any company for its product sales! :)

If you don't get your name into the public arena, then what chance do you have of growing you company?  ::)
