G'day guys,

I agree with the original post 100%

I am a Queenslander and bloody proud of it hey. ;D but as a much younger and foolish man, I moved to Sydney and didn't like the place at all. I had never met so many bloody rude and intolerant people in one place in my life. The most common response to a request for directions to anywhere was a simple "F@#% of idiot." or words to that effect. The best sight for me was the place in my rear view mirror as I was heading home.

I few years later, I was asked to go to Melbourne on business and I accepted with a degree of trepidation, thinking that I was probably in for more of the same. To my complete surprise, every business, office, service station, home etc that I called into, to ask directions or such just couldn't have been more helpfull or obliging. Hell, one nice old lady even made me a cup of tea while she rummaged around looking for a map.

I would have no hesitation in moving to Victoria but hell will freeze over before I will even drive through Sydney again. Besides NSW can't play football for sh*t. ;D
Cheers,
Mick

I'm surprised as to what some people are prepared to admit to on the inter tubes...
Also, this is a dangerous practice if you are seriously injured in an accident.  Wouldn't take long to be established that you had not been living in the state of the registered vehicle.  So vehicle potentially not lawfully registered.  Insurance could also therefore be void.  Could be exposed to high costs for vehicle repairs injuries etc to the other party.
If you own nothing and are prepared to be declared bankrupt you might 'get away with it'.
Otherwise, you may risk 'losing the roof over your head'.

Cap't Nematoad on the soap box ,,,, again

Agreed Mick, I too love Melbourne and Vic in general. Was forced to visit after my Daughter moved there. Was exspecting Sydney x 2 but was very happy to be proven wrong. And considering the Vic contingent has made life for us a little harder at work here in Qld we must be feeling generous hey?

chester ver2.0

It is easy to figure i have lived in all 3

NSW = Never Stop Working; we are in to much of a hurry having to pay insane rents or morgages to say hello to you. Our traffic is so crap we now think caravan parks are like the M4 and should have a 80kph speed limit and god help you if you are on a bike as we F##n hate cyclists

VIC = Very Important Communists; Yes we are a bit wankey and cant hold a football without bouncing it but we are all about the comradare of the brotherhood and a mutual distrust but strange curiosity of all things from NSW and QLD and hence we are nice people. But are really gathering intelligence for the eventual incursion into your territory (Albury Wondonga is our current testing ground of the master plan)

WA = Wait A While its 3pm and im still in bed deciding wether to go to work or not. If you apply for a job this year you may get a call back in 2015 and if you ask a miner to name a capital and beer on the east coast of Australia he will tell you Kuta and Bintang
