A local is setting up this by the look of it:

Checked out the Spree website;

Dry Hitch Weight:               700kg
Unloaded Vehicle Weight:  3300kg.

Colorado GVM 2900kg.
Tare                1800kg.

I will be on the lookout 4 it when travelling.

Mmmmmmm. I agree. Think that Colorado may be a little under equipped. Usually see those things hanging off the back of a F250 or similar.

I think someone posted photos of that or one very similar stuck up the high country trying to cross a creek

Yeah, that was a twin cab with a big dual axle van on the back. I remember that one. I think D4D posted it.

This thing hasnt hit the road yet, the Spree arrived two or so weeks ago, backed into the driveway  by a much bigger tug. The Colorado is currently undergoing turntable fitment. It hasnt fired a shot in anger yet.  It may bottom out on the gutter!

I will watch with interest.  I will also pull over if it passes going in the other directon  ;D

That being said, its a great looking unit, with pull out sides for more internal space.  It would look nice behind a 250 or Dodge Ram.

But the Holden dealer told me that the new Colorado's are rated to 3.5ton towing capacity - that's 200kg more than I need for this.

Cheers!

Just seen in town.

LARGE,Oleander extremely Large double decker bus, real fancy looking, double rear axles, towing equally large enclosed trailer.

It was a behemoth of a set up.

Seen south west WA, Queensland number plate. Goodness knows how they've driven that halfway round oz, didnt look like it would fit under many cross road power lines,
Seeing Australia in comfort and style, wouldn't have thought thats bus would get too many places....
Wondered what was. In the trailer....
Why do people ask "What the hell were you thinking?"
Obviously I was thinking I was going to get away with it and not have to explain it....

No, I live very close.  Perhaps too close.  Ive been running thru my head how to approach the subject with him without appearing to be a "smart arse" neighbour.  They have  only moved in during the last 3 months.  If I had met them before the rig arrived I would be more comfortable with sauntering over and having a look.

As it is (Im known to call a spade a spade) Im struggling with this one.  ???

Perhaps go over and suggest they have a look on MySwag for destination ideas.

Then leave it to Lost to sort them out  ;D

Yeah, I like both those ideas  ;D

I plan to spend a bit of time in the front yard this weekend and saunter over if I see some action.  At the minumum, I mite  get to check out a nice rig before I get thrown of the premises!

Stay tuned, consider it a mission!

Well, that answers the "how can I take my boat AND my plastic patio furniture AND my caravan" question...

Clearly what we can't see is the forklift being towed behind the caravan to get the boat down.    :D :D

Easy launch.....just reverse the ute into the water till the boat floats.

Just hope he remembers to unhitch the caravan first....  ;D
