yes it is a big range with several emergency run off ramps.... has some short sections of double lanes to overtake the trucks crawling down in low gear (coming up has double lane most of the way)...it is one of the few roads I know of with it's own helicopter landing pad part way up the range for the rescue choppers to land at, to take injured people to hospital. Come down the range to quickly and chances are you'll come around a corner and find a truck doing 15-20kph and possibly a line up of vehicles behind it...when I was young and dumb I nearly rear ended a vehicle there for that very reason, was lucky there was enough room to sneak up there left as I locked up my brakes and slid halfway past them...sometimes you get lucky, live and learn hey.
