Great movie, Yep  I can identify with him at the burger joint .. One thing that presses the red mist explode button for me is shear Incompetence by someone failing  to do a very basic task  ...  Generaly by the third attempt from the spotty kid serving, the manager has given you a full refund apology and taken control ..
More than once in the past [ years ago now ] Ive smeared a third or fourth attempt by a manager at getting my orders correct,  all over a drive through servery window or main  counter  ...
What part of    " Meat and cheese ONLY .. No sauce No salad No pickles  "   in the bun couldnt they understand ..  And one of the managers attempts just had a burger patty with cheese on it in the bag and no bun.
Another fourth attempt time they just scraped the mustard and crap off in front of me and gave it back, that one went flying into the back of the servery somewhere and everything else and drinks went over the counter top ..

Reckon those exhausts and the fact the chutes stayed on / deployed saved him and held him reasonably straight .
