We`ve had our Austrack tent for three years, been in all sorts of weather including a mini cyclone, no problems at all.

Cheers, Robyn.

Have you priced getting one made?

No, I live in Mudgee and everything is studid expensive thanks to the mines. I would be surprised if a local ones isn't twice as expensive

I looked at the Market Direct tents at the show on the weekend, was told that they don't do a 1200 drop.  The guy suggested that I dig a hole for the wheels or let my tyres down.  Neither options nor his attitude appealed to me.

The Austrack 9 foot isn't a 1200 drop either, since I'm looking for a really quick setup with a 9' tent I'm reluctant to go for a 12' + tent.

The XTrail 9' looks good on paper but I haven't been able to find anyone with one in Brisbane so I can take a look.

I spoke to the people at the Emu stand, really helpful,  good looking tent but again only 1100 drop.  They are going to get back to me on a custom made 1200 drop version, hoping that works out.

The imports are looking at between $2000 and $2600, local products are $4500 to $6000 for a similar layout, now I'm keen to buy Australian and was willing to go to $3500 but no one could go near that locally.  Sorry but I'm not going to pay more than double to keep it local.

If you are happy to get a bigger tent you get the option of the Austrack of XTrail.

Nothing to see here - move on.

thanks for the replies guys.

I emailed MDC asking for prices, they responded back straight away saying all prices are on their website. I replied saying yes they are for trailers but not the tents separately. Waiting for a reply.

yeah I need a big tent, 3yo and 1yo boys to tag along.

not too worried about drop height as i'm planning on using airbags, that way I can have higher sides/more storage and just dump the air for camp setup.
thanks for the PM's too.

You dont need as big as you may think... most of the time isnt in the tent. 9ft would suffice.

I don't know Austrack, but by all accounts XTrail produce some good gear. Make sure you tell them you're a myswag member and you expect a discount and will be telling potentially 11,000 members how good or bad their tent is. Sam from XTrail is a member.
