Do they have blind people designing the axle location?

Having the axle so far back makes the ball weight excessive. Also puts unnecessary stress on the drawbar.

Saw one of these for real at the 4WD show at eastern creek yesterday and it looks even more cheap and nasty in real life.

I agree Chappo, and for the money this MDC looks pretty good in the photos. It would be interesting to have a closer look at it. Like LB infers, you get what you pay for.

Here's my ****ing stupid looking KK with similar axle position  ;D

Nomad

I've seen one o these on ebay or a lot less than 19K.

It's just me, but I don't mind the axle position. There's probably the water tank and spare wheel behind the axle along with the kitchen, and all that's in front of it is the fridge box, so I can't see the ball weight being too excessive. Yeah, the drawbar is long, but so is mine and it's not fallen off yet.

Interesting to see a "more affordable" take on the forward-fold design. I think it's got a lot of pros for a 2-person camper, especially if you camp in spots that don't always have nice, flat, grassy sites. How boring the world would be if we all had the same style.

I'm critical of a lot of stuff that MDC/GIC do, but you can't deny that competition always raises the bar for consumers. This one at least looks like someone's had a god think about it - the drop-down door has the corner cut off so it doesn't hit the gas strut, for instance. I'm sure it's nothing fancy, but I'd like to see one in the flesh.

Cheers!
Matto :)

hi chappo

KK are great campers and well made however they are still influenced by the laws of physics.

The design creates higher ball weights than conventional designs.

Cheers.

If you're talking about front fold hardfloor campers, the Modcon would have to be it. http://modcon.com.au/
