See an add in the lastest 4WD Action mag for their bull bars and they show one on the new D.Max. So was wandering if any one has one on their 4by? Have a feeling that they may be made in Thailand.

heard they are going to start building the Prado there to.

Hey Bruce,

The bulbar on our car came from SportsRange in Perth (http://www.sportsrange.com.au/). They were the original importers of these bars, a couple of years ago MCC started up further East and offer the same line of products. I'm not sure of the arrangement - whether SportsRange onsell or whether MCC simply purchase from the same supplier, but either way the end product is the same.

Hubble is right - the bars are made in Thailand. Mine went from Thailand to Perth, then right back across the country to Cairns.

As for quality, I like my bar a lot. It's got a couple of areas where it could have been improved, but I'm led to believe that a lot of the issues with my earlier model have now been rectified. I've replaced the indicator/parker light assemblies with fully-sealed LED replacements (inc proper waterproof connectors) because the original equipment was terrible. Fitting it up wasn't super-easy (bracket holes not in the exact right spot requiring a bit of die-grinding, etc), but nothing that you couldn't overcome with a bit of mucking around. I believe (with the R50 Pathys anyway) that this is still a problem - I assume their jig/measurements are slightly off. Unlikely to be a problem if you don't have an R50 Pathfinder

Overall I like the bar, it's been plenty strong enough for what I do. I've just fitted a winch up to it, and the couple of little tests I've done so far have shown it to be more than strong enough to support the winch. When I bought it I asked SportsRange to weld on an antenna tab to the stainless hoop, which they were more than happy to do for me (for free). It looks good, it's well built, and the price is right. I'd have no worries recommending them to people. A lot of people on the PCoA forums have bought from either MCC or SportsRange now, because they're one of the only options for a decent bulbar for an R50 Pathfinder. Lots of good reports, and lots of different styles available.

i've got their rear bar on my 'trol. i'm happy to accept that it's not as good as a Kaymar, but for 30% of the cost i'll live with it.

I don't think it's as strong. the stub axles seem a little bit lighter-duty. For >$2500 saving over the Kaymar, i can get a lot of bracing done.

Im lucky i got mine off ebay... but the setup is now $3800 new + fitting!

Great feed back Matto and the flying baddger, had a talk to the guys at MCC today and the prices are pretty good but fitting my self I do not know, think they may be a bit of cutting of the plastic some where. I will ask for fittting instructions before buying lol.
