Dear all,

My wife's going to Fairfield, South Brisbane, on the weekend.  Can anyone suggest a good camping supplies place near (ish) to there?

I found a 10m sullage pipe for $30 but the post was almost that much again!  Rather than spend an hour searching, I thought I'd see if anyone knows of somewhere off the top of their head.

Cheers,

Dave.

Try a plumbing supply place instead as they are usually cheaper.  However, there is a caravan supply place at Underwood (1/2hr from Fairfield) and another on the Gold Coast that are both good.  I'll see if I can find lwebsites for you tonight.  They both are happy to post things out via Australia Post.

Underwood one is north of Bunnings on Compton Road but is in the same estate.
Gold Coast one is just off the main road in Helensvale.

I've purchased things from both myself.

Try camec in Coopers plains, a Web search will point you in their direction
How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home winemaking course, and I forgot how to drive?  (Homer J Simpson).

Thanks heaps for replies.  I'll check them out and try to get my wife to go on an extra mission.

Camec will most likely have everything you would want relating to caravans and the like, but they aren't exactly cheap. they are just off Beaudesert Rd at Coopers Plains (think it's Kerry Rd from memory), which is only about 15 minutes drive from Fairfield.
drive down Fairfield Rd until it reaches Ipswich Rd, go onto Ipswich Rd and stay in the left lane and take the first exit onto Granard Rd. jump over to the right hand lane and at the second set of traffic lights turn right into Beatty Rd (Hungry Jacks is on the right and McDonalds on the left). follow it up to Kerry Rd and turn left into that street  (go through a couple sets of traffic lights on Beatty Rd, Boundary Rd is the street before it from memory). Camec are right down the end of Kerry Rd near Beaudesert Rd, turn left into the last driveway before you hit Beaudesert Rd and follow around the back of the wharehouses there until you find Camec.

Hi, I am using 25mm flexible electrical conduit for the sink drainage on my Cub Escape, works well. Bought it at Bunnings, they cut to length.

Exactly!!!!

At the Penrith show Camec were much more expensive for exactly the same product. All the other vendors were selling CGear mats for $250, Camec were $300 for the same size!

It pays to shop around

I bought 2 of them from Stratco for 5 bucks each a couple of months ago. Corner of Beaudesert and Granard Rd at Coopers Plains.. Not sure if it's an everyday price, but worth a phone call.
