Orchid Beach Pub, Fraser Island

Hi everyone, The wife, Kids and I are heading to Fraser in September.  I want to take a day trip up to Orchid Beach and I hear there is a pub there.  Can anyone tell me what the pub is like and can you get a feed there.

We're going there on the 8th of Sept. (Sat) and heading back on the Wed.

You can but they will make your kids sit outside the enclosed "licenced" area..........we found that out and bailed down and had a bbq at Waddy Point camp area. Ask V8Ute. He had ordered beers and then they told him this so bailed out...............bit bloody stupid really.

We all left less than impressed. OK, their license will dictate what they can allow, but it seemed so out of character with the Island and Queensland that there wasn't a beer garden.

Jeepers, we are heading up on the 22/9 and staying at Dilli for about 6 nights, The Chef likes the amenities and the grass for the 4 kids.
Thanks Big Jules and Nomad, I was hoping for a lunch at the pub, might have to have a barbie like you did.  I am going to wander over to Wathumba creek, will have to have a bit of a barbie there.  Don't worry Nomad, you can be sure that I will have stocked up on the beer before I hit the island.

We'll be heading to the Eli Camping area with our new/2nd hand camper trailer. (That's if i've bought one by then)
OR... staying in a house around Eurong way if we haven't bought a trailer.
