Hi there

Returned from 4 days away up at South West Rocks, the other day.  Pulled into the south-bound Service Centre on the F3.  Saw the 'Cars with Trailers' sign for parking and found all the spots taken up by cars without trailers!!!  >:( >:(

Drives you nuts, doesn't it!!

Any other war stories from the road you're willing to share??

Cheers

At those servos I normally park out the back in the truck area, there is never parking out the front with a trailer on.

At one of our local servo's there is always cars and bikes parked in front of the diesel pump, you should have seen the look on one blokes face change when I told the girl behind the counter I had filled the diesel bike aswell as my truck.

Coming back from Kununurra several years ago, I pulledd up, away from any truck stop and parking bay, and started my gen set to keep my fridges running overnight.  Another person pulled up near me, about two hours later, they had something to eat, then came and asked me to turn off my gen set.  I told them, not so politely, to drive to the parking bay 25 km's down the road.
Although it was not an actual CT, I used my trailer to camp in, hope that qualifies.

Despite the fact you are doing 110km/hr in a 100 zone, people just HAVE to overtake you because they don't want to get suck behind the guy with a trailer!
Do not PM me for technical advice - start a thread.

if a driver has tampered with the trucks speed limiter then they deserve all that comes to him/her in fines etc i agree. i have been driving interstate for over 25 years and in that time ( working for several different companies) i have never been in a truck that does more then 105 klm/h. at the end of the day i as would 99% of other drivers want to get home to my family in one piece. EVERYONE needs to be a bit more patient and need to understand they we all have a job to do/ be somewhere and respect the other persons driving experience/or lack of .

and then they get in front of you and slow down to 95, but then speed up to 120 when an overtaking lane comes up.  >:(

or they overtake you, ..... after sitting on your tail , almost riding in the boot,

and then turn off as soon as they get in front of you !!!!

Grrrrrrrr!!!!!
Why do people ask "What the hell were you thinking?"
Obviously I was thinking I was going to get away with it and not have to explain it....

When all you need is a diesel pump, and there's only one in the servo, and there's a little petrol car filling up and there's 2 or 3 petrol pumps vacant.  Although that gives me the s**ts all the time!

Regarding trucks, I find them useful wooducks when they're travelling fast, and am quite happy to sit behind them!

The east west truck driver that has his bum on the white line and is about a 1m into your lane and does not budge for on coming traffic so you end up half on the gravel half on the road  >:(

I never have issues with trucks, I find them to be the most consistent of drivers, and courteous. Really.

Folks who sit in the right hand lane and won't pull left annoy me, whether I'm towing a camper, a tractor or just solo. And those who brake when passing an oncoming vehicle. Why???????

I love it when we open the weighbridge, all the trucks pull up about 5 kays down the road and hurriedly fill in log books. So in order to combat that we drive down to where they pull up and give them tickets for parking in the emergency lane.  :cup:

Warning to all truck drivers, if you see a really short policeman, stop writing, or keep your log books in a prono mag, that should distract the police....... >:D >:D >:D

I've got a list as long as my arm.
I wont bore you all with it  ;D but a lot of has been mention above.
last year what I did notice while traveling, in the 6600k's we did, most drivers had good road manners and I didn't have a problem until I got closer to the coast.
From Geelong to Albury, people road skills went down hill. From Wagg Wagga to Tamworth, again we didn't have any one doing stupid things.
So as we climbed up to The New England and then down to home at Lawrence the idiots seem to appear. Overtaking on blind cnrs, braking for no apparent reason, inconsistent speeds, tailgating, pulling out onto the main road and traveling at 80k's.It just seems to be a sign of the times, we have to drive watching for every other idiots bad driving.
On the other side of things, doesn't make a road trip great when motorist do the right thing and everything flows.  ;D
