Though I have taken a liking to the ports from the Berry Farm in WA.

Enjoying some Renmano Premium Tawny Port at the moment.

Had a guy tell me he other day he drinks nothing but Debortoli Old Tawny.
Is it as good as he says it is? Any things worth a try I guess

I'm very new to "port" but had a few Debortoli's last weekend !:)

Not bad !
It took me 3 attempts to find it this week.

Am currently consuming my std drink & some Debortoli !

Thinking about getting a little wooden cask to mellow some in at home!
Any suggestions on where to source from?

I do like a nice Tawny port.

During the cold,wets nights that we are getting up here on the Atherton Tablelands in North Queensland I can choose between the Galaway Pipe or the Penfolds Grandfather, (I have several bottles of each), but I do also enjoy one of the cheaper brands nearly as much and that is the Yalumba Directors Special Port.

I also have a bottle of the Taylor's Late Bottled Vintage Port, (was given a couple as a gift), very nice aged port, but not a tawny.

You've got good taste in port duggie. I've worked at each of the wineries on your list of favourite ports and they are top notch. Not sure that Yalumba own the Galway Pipe label anymore but they did when I worked there.

The last time I had Galway Pipe, it tasted different to the stuff made in the 90s.

I usually take De Bortoli Old Tawny fishing with me.  But I haven't tried all that many different ones.

Went down to the local bottle shop today for a look.
Not much to choose from so bought a bottle of Brown Brothers Tawny.
We are enjoying a sip or two at the moment.
Not a bad drop.

Jen bought me a bottle of Chateau Yaldara Liqueur Port home.
Just had to have a tiny taste.
Yeh that's nice real nice.

Well the time has come,

Just like Champagne, Moselle and Riesling you can no longer call Port, Port.

Disappointing isn't it, somehow fortified Shiraz doesn't do it for me.

Oh well went up river on the long weekend and enjoyed our Stones Mac (stones green ginger wine with whiskey flavouring plus the 18% alc kick)

Topped up into your beer is the best warming winter brew.

(In the interests of fair play and honesty I must own up and state I work for Angoves and do have the cellar door sales at work, my wine allowance is regularly in the negative .... By quite a lot .... Seriously  )

I'm new to this port thing aswell, the oldman loved the stuff. But this is what I am drinking at the moment, really enjoying it

I can recommend Peter van Gynt in Mudgee. Great white port, old school winery which has that smell about it that you know it's going to be good. Back there in a couple of weeks to top up!

Directors Special.   Keep it in the freezer (it won't freeze) makes cheap stuff sooooo smooth
