has anyone ever been to Weipa? what are the options and how busy do they get this time of year?

Hi TroyE

Very busy up here this time of year.  There is a caravan park, the Albatross Resort and the Heritage Resort.
Caravan Park is in a fantastic location, right on the beach front.  Can't swim of course.  A few large lizards in the area! But they do have a pool.
Be best to ring them to see if they have room.  Also they have the cheapest gas in town too.
