Hi All,

Well planning has started for our round Aus trip and am trying to decide if to stay with the bunk for the 4 year old or buy a swag to throw on the camper floor for her.

Downside of the bunk is that we have to put it up each night and when we are touring this is a bit of a drag. Looked at the blow up set ups for the toddlers but dont line blow up mattresses (really get cold lying on them at night in the outback, plus they spring leaks), so have started to think that a swag might be a better option and when she is older can graduate to outside the camper to annex in the swag.

Does anyone know of any aussie swag manufacturers that cater for swags for juniors (full single size looks a bit big for the 4 year old)

Looking forward to your thoughts.

I would recommend this

Folds up quite small just like the chairs do. I had my 5 year old laying on it the shop and he loved it. I loved the ease of being able to pack it up in about 5 seconds.

Good luck.

Standard swag is the go......when we had our kids at this age we bought swag without the mattress and put a piece of 2" foam about 4 ft long in the swag and folded the rest of the canvas under the swag for more insulation......changed mattress as kids got bigger.

Here is a company i was looking at for kids swags.

Sounds like to go for me, didnt think to tuck it underneath for extra insulation.

Now to decide on which swag to get there are so many out there :)

I got a good conditioned one, 6'6" , for $50 at cash converters for our 7yo son.  Simple fold across design, needed one more strap.  He won't have to get another one until after hes been out working for a year or two after school.  He'll be able to roll it up properly by himself next year.

We bought the candy canvas one; it is brilliant. Will last for ages.

I bought all three of my boys (12, 7 and 4) a oztrail cooper swag  for christmas.

At easter they all slept out under the stars, even though the nights were cool they never  worried about it. They all have a sleeping bag inside and that is all.
