Hi guys

I am look at one or two of these to replace the shade cloth I currently use under the awning of the KK. I have read plenty on here about how good these are so I am sold.

My question for those who currently use them is am I better of with one large one or 2 smaller ones for my application??

The KK is appox 2.4 x 6.7 under the large awning. My current mat is 1 piece and I find it a PITA to set up and carry.

Would 2 smaller ones be better (allow more flexability also maybe??) than one big one??

I understand that there could be a trip hazard where they join.

You thoughts please.

We have one large cgear multimat 3.6 x 4.6m for under our awning and haven't had any trouble folding it up or fitting it back into the bag. We also have two smaller ones and I use one as a walkway in front of large one sometimes when on sandy or muddy soil to stop as much getting into CT, I find where the two meet a little bit more dirt comes up at the join. So if I was to choose I would say get one large one as you can stretch it out and not have to worry about joins. Plus you eliminate the tripping hazard too.

I find they fold quite easily in the folds that they were originally in, so even after a few uses we have still been able to fold it the same way. After our last trip it rained and we had to lack it up a bit damp so I wanted to gurney it off when we got home, after drying it out I folded it the wrong way, like I mean not in the same way it came and it still fit in the bag no worries

What is their folded up dimentions like (your big one)? Big and bulky or not too bad?

Hm I'm not sure of the exact measurements, it's packed up in camper ATM but it looks about the size of a cushion but not as fat, if that makes sense? At a rough guess I would say 50cms x50cms & about 10cms thick.

7.5 x 2.4 would probably be a good size if your awning is 6.7x 2.4. It's handy to have a little bit of over hang, not so much that it hinders pegging the awning out, but enough for wiping feet, leaving shoes, etc.

Folded up 6 x 2.4 measures about 500mm x 400mm x 200mm.

Yeah our size one looks about the same as RWS's pic but not as fat :)

We have the 6 x 2.4 and don't have any issues folding it up.  Follow the creases that are already there and we found that after a while it will pack up smaller.
