If its got the same crappy rear legroom as the previous Holdens you can forget it.

I sold mine (Rodeo) and bought A Triton and never looked back.

I drove one of their pre production models last week and hope for their sakes the production models is a big improvement. It was a manual with supposedly 440 NMs, my old MU could have flogged it  ;D. The ride was no where near as good as the BT 50 or Amarok and there prices are nothing to write home about either.
Also of news Ford has dropped their prices on the Ranger of about $4K, a 2.2 4X4 manual with snorkel and tow kit $43,990.00 still to dear.

It"s on it's way, probably not till early next year. The Colorado SUV is due end of this year, they will have some panel areas the same as the Isuzu and chassis the same but all the running gear is different.

Couldn't agree more FP, 4 blokes in a duelcab from Perth to Karratha, only stopping for fuel, requires knee surgery when you get there  :'(
Why didn't they build the duelcab body to suit the cab chassis wheel base, its about 5" longer

Well a change of heart, today I got to drive a pre product auto (6 speed) and was very surprised, it was way better vehicle to drive than the manual. Now as I said these vehicles are pre production models so there is probably a few differences.
Anyway I believe that the auto was as nice to drive as the BT 50. I asked if it would have a rear diff lock but the sales man had no idea so will have to wait untill they are released in a couple of weeks.

What is it with car designers these days thinking we all want utes that look like 20yr old F100's.. or Yank rubbish?
the front looks like one of them faces kids make when they pull the sides of their eyes round near their ears, or a one of them poor plastic surgery jobs

Looks like a BT50/Ranger/DMax type thing. Doesn't really look any better or worse than the others. Just depends now on who offers the best for the $$$.

funny, when i bought my Colorado I thought it had better legroom than everything except the Triton......... i'm 6'1" and i can sit in the back, yes it was cramped...but i simply could not get into the back of an old Ranger . having said that, you wont find me in the back seat of my own ute so what do i care about the poor bugger i stick in the back seat  ;D

I have to agree, it seems they are all using the same designer and coming up with a (I find) very unattractive and rather vulgar look to them.

Spot on Lost. I've never figured out what the designers see in that look. I used to quite like the style, basic as it was, of the Hilux. And then they brought out the bull nosed distorted look and they lost me.

However what really caught my attention on this Colorado is the ability of the manufacturer to produce so much power (470nm) from a 2.8L Turbo Diesel donk.

My 3.2 DiD NT Pajero produces 440nm (I believe). I'm left wondering how they do that without putting strain on something somewhere.

Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.

I went to a "pre release" showing of the 2012 Colorado a couple of weeks ago at the local Holden agent.  It was apparently a rebadged version of a right-hand drive Trailblazer and they didn't know what accessories would be supplied as standard features in the Australian release.  If that vehicle is the one they intend to release here, you won't have much trouble with leg room and space in the cabin.  Finding a place to put a second battery and/or mount a compressor will require some ingenuity though (there is no place under the bonnet).  Overall, they're quite an impressive vehicle.  The power and torque figures they're quoting are about the same as the Ranger but with better fuel economy from a new 2.8L diesel engine.  Nissan still leads the power and torque race with their 6 cyl. diesel but  Holden dealers expect to have a price advantage.  GM are still being very careful about what information they release, including prices.

Could be wise to wait until this new engine proves itself before parting with any money but if the new vehicle proves to be as reliable as the previous Colorado and Rodeo models GM are on a winner.

I went and sat in the back seat of it this morning and the leg room is brillant, it would be as good as any wagon out there I think. The motor in it is the same as is in the Jeep Wrangler, a VM Motori diesel, so if there has been any problems in the Jeep it should be pretty easy to find out.

Can anybody that knows more about auto transmissions than I do (which is not much!) explain why with the new Colorado they are saying 470 odd Nm with the auto, but only 440 odd Nm with the manual?
I thought an engine produced a certain amount of torque and that was it.

cheers
