As they say "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" as such I gather "Too damn expensive" must be in relation to your bank balance or size of your credit card"
Either way I reckon even the basic Ultimate xtrak is to damn expensive"  ??? but would I say the basic Xtrak is ugly..nuuu may be not  BUT I do always reckon they look like the left overs from the Concord factory. When they quit making the Concords..they had all these nose cones left over and some one must of thought Hmm lets make campers out of them
It must be scary towing one and looking in your rear vision mirror..S#$T a concord is screaming up my arse  ;D

That's pretty much how I see it. The target market on this forum is the under $50k, according to the camper prices poll over 50% of the voters fall in the under $20k market and only 1.4% in the over $60k segment. It's not for everyone, either budget or looks, but for a touring couple looking at a 22+ foot van weighing 2.5 - 3 tonnes it looks like a fair alternative to me, lighter, less fuel, less running gear and good accommodation.

Just my 2.2 cents worth.

Ultimate "Expanda"??? Lots of over hang on there. And the slide out bit looks like it might fall off with no support.

Had to laugh, saw this at the show today, the only van, camper or motorhome that was ropped off and you needed one of Willy Wonkers golden tickets to get in.  I mean they let you trample through 300 grand Winnebagos

Hmmm.. To each his own.. To sterile for me, and a little dear!  ;D  Phil

Oooh.  There are countless buildings around the place that are testament to the dangers of group think. "I drew this piece of Lego." "That looks good, let's build it". And 15 other morons who go along with it. Probably not that many involved here, but I could just imagine the process.

Besides price, I like it. Seems quite functional, can add bunks and simple to set up. Would have to see in the flesh but looks different and just because it looks different doesn't make it a bad product. I remember when Ultimate first came out I saw many negative comments to it looks but hey look at it now, very popular.......
2006 GU4 4.2TDi Patrol with many goodies. Currently no camper but have had a Customline Camper, Kimberly Kamper and Jayco Hawk....Tenting and Swagging it now..

You can buy half my house for that! But then again you can't drag my house around OZ

Wonder if  they were watching some 60's sci-fi show and smoking something organic  when they drew this one up .. Half expected to see some one in  glittering overalls standing in the doorway calling out for Will Robinson and the Robot

What Off Road Van can you by for 50 k. There not too many REAL Off Road Vans you can buy for under 75 k without and A/C.

Back to the new Ultmate would be a fantasic family van with the bunks fitted.
But all the cooking has to be done inside and where the toilet and shower fitted it would want to have on for the money.

This is what you buy if you were spending this sort of cash

The new Kimberley Kruiser it has every thing you ever need or want including a clothes washer. But no bunks for the kids avaible.
