So, you use a taser your in the wrong. (case few weeks ago)
You use a gun to stop a car draggin some chick down the road your under intense investigation (case last night).. shame they didnt empty all their bullets into the car.

Do people expect cops to just walk away? WTF? and add to that the pittance they get paid.. I just dont get it.

http://www.theage.com.au/nsw/teens-shot-by-police-after-car-takes-to-footpath-20120421-1xdce.html
Just cause they were the special people cops cant arrest from Redfern, they should be taken pity on. The best thing they could do is just wipe out Redfern.

I feel sorry for the innocent chick run over minding her own business on the FOOTPATH, I hope she is ok... and the poor bloke that owns the stolen car. Now how does he get to work  let alone the bull**** to deal with in paperwork with the cops, and 12mths till he gets his car back, then the insurance bull**** he has to go thru...

The world is really turning ****ed.

Agreed, except normally PARENTS do take resposability.  There is a big difference between PARENTS, and sperm and egg donors.

The Government fixed that problem for parents some time back, The Police answer was the best. B

... and reload.
I listen to the SE NSW cop radio network often enough to know that I wouldn't want their job for double the pay.  Just hearing the "routine" jobs they get called out to every day makes me wonder how they can keep going to work everyday.  I'm damb glad they do.

Here I am D4D.
I get around 80k a year. I am in the Highway Patrol which I must admit is an easier job than the missus who works the divvan. It isnt enough money and when you think about it, every car I pull up,I place my right hand on my semi auto when I get out of the car. Better be safe than sorry. I have family I enjoy going home to see. If I have to shoot somemone I will. Look after number ONE. If you do the right thing you will get looked after, sorry, not will get looked after, may get looked after. 23 years coming up and never pulled my gun. But I love the job!!!

I could never understand how anyone could join the Police Force. Low wage, and no matter what you do, someone will abuse you. Nurses cop rubbish as well for trying to help people.

Always respected what they do and the rubbish they have to put up with. Even when I believe they were in the wrong, there has been empathy.

But you lot, sheeesh. Should be working for the media. The media stir people up with their headlines causing more problems.

Maybe its because it is late on Saturday night.

Go for it!

Yes, the police are well underpaid, and well disrespected.  I make it a point, on the rare occasion that I am random breath tested or licence checked, to thank the police officer for keeping me safe on the road.  Maybe if more people wished the police officer a good day, and thanked them for doing a job that keeps the law-abiding driver safe, the police would feel a bit better and know that some people do appreciate the job that the police are doing.

Hi,
yep, on the odd occasions when I get caught in a RBT, I make a point of expressing my appreciation of the job done by the police.

I have worked along side the police as a Volunteer Fire Fighter, and as a medical photographer and appreciate the difficulties they face on a daily basis.  They must have amazing patience to deal with some of the cases I have seen.

cheers

Thats a good idea, I jad never thought of that. Last time I was on a breath tested I had my daughters and explaned that they were keeping the roads safe.

The thing annoying me of late is the doo gooders who want to stop police chasing thiefs in stolen cars...if the rule is that police cannot chase then all thiefs are going to speed off as they know there is more chance of not getting caught. I do feel sorry for the family of the girl that was killed the other day in Perth I think and it is a hard line to draw but when the stolen car loses control and the thief dies, then the parents get on the media blaming the police for trying to catch them...I think the police have no hope...well thats my gripe.

I ve  just read the first post and link to the story, as far as I'm concerned the police have done nothing wrong. I actually think considering the circumstances they did what they had to in order to preserve public safety.

The police involved should be commended as heroes, as far as the criminals are concerned who were responsible for this event, they broke law and put other peoples lives in danger so they should be punished.

How's it going guys

Ref: the Perth incident
the officer driving  in that incident has now been stood down and is facing charges of dangerous driving causing death.

We all know the rules , You dose the crime you dose the time . Somebody has to carry the big stick & the burdon of when to use it . Hopefully never . but if you do you should be backed up as the Thin Blue Line .
You can go your own way . Treg Up & Make Dust

I blame Nixon and Overland for the soft touch policy we have today. Hopefully the current command will bring back some head kicking.

Cops and members of the defence force always have my respect.

Then again any profession that I don't have the balls to do has my respect.

Fun Police

I always have a chat and a smile when I'm pulled up for RBT. It doesn't hurt.

And next time if the same cop pulls you up for speeding, you may get a lower fine ;)

Last time I was RBT'ed the police apologised for the delay as the first driver in (young girl) was on her phone as we were all waived over (!!)

I normally keep quiet on what I do for a living (for various reasons) but it is time to come out.......I've been in the 'job' in Qld for 24 years.... worked in some of the good places.... like Gold Coast.... Inala, Ipswich, Oxley, and Acacia Ridge, been shot at, spat at and assaulted ....... but I work indoors now and at the end of the day I enjoy what I do and wouldn't change it (unless I win lotto). Some days I miss being on the road but lifestyle comes first now.....no shift work for me....

We all appreciate the good people out there and the support we get.

Regards

Jenko.

I don't know I reckon a starting salary of around 60g for an 18 year old, around 85 for a 5 year constable and over 120g for a duty officer to shuffle paperwork is pretty good money for a 38 hour week
