Hey mate, I think any of the newer ones that are progressive not just solid state. I've got a takonsha prodigy and love it for the caravan. The braking is a lot smoother than the old solid state heyman reese I had. Not sure about the new ones though, have not done any reading about them

  Hi guys,
I have a takonsha prodigy in the Disco, but due to mounting issues I went for the Hayman Reece which can be mounted at any angle I end both do the job well once I spent time to set them up properly .
By the way I tow a 17.5 foot Roma Sover'gn caravan at about 2100kg loaded with a Hayman Reece weight distributer.

I've just finisihed installing a Redarc remote head (EBRH).  Great if your knees hit a regular unit.

How easy was it to install, does it have a wiring harness like the teko's.

The Hayman Reece one is a rebadged Tekonsha Primus IQ, they work a treat.

You can pick them up off ebay for under $100 delivered.

Hi Torsion,
I believe it's a solid BC that comes on progressively up to your intensity setting.  It's not a momentum based system like the P3.  I've only got a camper trailer that's not too heavy,so not fussed.  I do like the fact there's no huge box for the emergency room to pick out of your legs after an accident.

I've seen looms for sale, but it was only four wires that I just supplied.  Here's what it looks like installed... brains box is hidden with remote controls on the dash.

P3 for me, it has worked a treat, easy to set up and has various boost settings that come in hand for different driving conditions.

If that RedArc unit is the same model as the new one installed in my Cruiser, and it looks to be, it's solid state and not progressive. Brakes come on to set value with any depression of brake pedal or push of brake button.  I checked this with RedArc before installation.

Redarc is a very tidy installation, but I would say get a progressive one if you can.   Then the trailer will brake harder when you brake harder.   Makes much more sense.   When adjusted correctly, I don't even notice the trailer is behind me when I brake.
