Hey guys, Heading off on Easter Camping Trip tommorow. My youngest has just caught a cold and as she is only 2.5 years old its hard to keep a blanket on her at night.

Luckily I ordered a Powered site this easter. Do Caravan Parks frown on using certain types of heaters?

I have a soft floor cavalier CT and I have a very nice small oil heater that i think would just keep the nip out of the air. Do you think its ok to use one of these in a CT at night?

shrek4

Nope they expect it. Otherwise what would draw people to their powered sites in the first place if not to run a fan or heater?

Hope the little one is on the mend soon. I for one hate having sick children!

As Shrek said.

Go for it. You pay big money for it, so may as well use it whilst your there.

Thanks guys.

Yea initially I could only get a non powered one so was bringing my generator but they rang back and said they had a power one come up. Glad I grabbed it. Just bought a new waeco so power is good.

I hope she's better soon. Would she sleep in one of the kids sleeping bags? That's what I do with ours...or a coverall over pyjamas.

How did the heater work out? We are planning some winter camping and our bubs are also small, so need to think about the heating.

Hey guys, just got back from camping. Yea the heater was great. We used an oil heater in a Cavalier CT.

The canvas isnt insulated in any way and during the night we had a Very cold night and it didnt make the tent toastie warm but took all the nip out of the air and was very comfortable inside. ( Frosted car window in the morning )

One thing is the heater drys the air out so make sure your well hydrated or find a way of replacing a bit of the moisture in the air or you will wake up wondering y your so thirsty  ;D

Other thing we did was replace our blow up mattresses the girls slept on last time with a sponge mattress as the air mattress got very cold from the ground temp.
