Dargo to Wonnangatta Station

Planning to check out the Vic High Country, post Easter. CAN ANYONE ADVICE me on the track condition between Dargo and Wonnangatta Station. Towing the Camper and haven't travelled the track before?? Have read there are some tricky sections?

Depends on which way you want to go in from.  Grant or Hawkhurst.  Both are steep and Hawkhurst has a river crossing with a steep climb up to Hearnes Spur.

You may get the camper in but if there is a hint of rain - you won't get it out and Zeke Spur is just as bad.  Post Easter is getting into the rain season and my best advise is to leave the camper at Dargo or the Wonangatta van park and do day trips.

You can go up station track onto Cynthia range and along to wombat spur. Avoid hearne spur.
There is 22 crossing going from dargo     
Although all passable its depending on the weather. I was up there 2 weeks ago going from king valley along wonnangatta track. Got as far as river and that's all she wrote. Some of the later sections would be very steep and impassable with trailer or at least I wouldn't attempt it.

The chance of rain this weekend is likely but probably not enough to worry you BUT it is the high country and the weather is what it is. As suggested you could drive Cynthia Range and avoid Herne Spur as it's very steep and shaley in a few spots, Just go to the end of Cynthia range track and turn left at the bottom. I would not have any hesitation in taking mine along there and we drove the track only 4 weeks ago but we dropped down Herne Spur as we were not towing. Probably your biggest issue is tackling the oncoming traffic in the tighter spots.

If I were to base near Grant/Dargo, which is your prefered camp spot. HEMA displays 12 or more?
Facilities ideal.

Talbotville is a good base. We cross the first river the go left onto the flat.
Last time we had it all to ourselves as the little softroaders can't cross.
Great base for some amazing drives.
