Evening everyone.

Wondering if anyone from FNQ is interested in catching up one Sunday for brunch/lunch?
Last time, we met at the Hambledon Hotel but open to any other suggestions of course.

I have a number of dates to suggest -  11th March,    1st April,    15th April,    or    22nd April.   Any of those work for you??

Look forward to hearing from you all.

Cheers
Sharyn :D

Pretty easy on the dates. Another suggestion, maybe dinner? I'm pretty easy though.......

Does the Hambo have kids playground?

:D What a great idea...... and no the hambo doesn't have a play area unless a 3x3 area with a couple of pay arcade games and a few jumbo lego count.
At the moment though my shifts are home, 3/4 & 24/25 March and 14/15 April until the next change  ::)

 Paul
Can every day be made a public holiday?

duggie

I am very flexable, if the date fits into my work roster I will be there

Well so far it looks the 14/15 April will work for Paul so lets shoot for that?
We could do the Fuller Sports club.
They have an outstanding kids play room complete with babysitter. (They wont let me in to play though ???)
The food is nice and not very expensive.
If your a member of the club or of Brothers than the food is even cheaper...

Yeah, weekend of the 14th, 15th April sounds fine.
Would you prefer the Sat night?  We're easy.
Which one is Fuller Sports Club?  Sounds good re child entertainment and value!

Anyone else out there interested in a catch up?

Teabag

We are pretty easy but the food at Fuller is very average from last experience. This was 2 years ago..........IMO.

Food at Brothers is far better.

It has improved alot since Brothers did the full renovation on it.
But we are open to other suggestions by all means...

14/15 April will be fine with me as I will be home that weekend. You guys sort out the venue and I will just tag along.

What about Brothers? Great kiddies room for those with little ones? Balaclava is good feed with kids rm? Northerner Steak House but no kids rm? Some options but we are easy....

Watching with anticipation 14/15th looks good at this stage.  Tony probably working the Sat Morning but should be able to make it.  Cheers Rellbell ;D ;D ;D

Bill

As Morag and I have no little ones tagging along we are happy to go wherever the "parents" decide...

Matto

Hey crew,

We could be talked into going to the Bala again. Was great that night we were there for the camping show catch up. The kids room is always a hit. Can get busy so we'd need to book.

Food wise, I'd say it's middle of the range. I was there about a month ago and had a steak. Had ordered medium - was well done one end, and blue the other. So over all, I guess it averaged out... :)

Northener Steak House would also be good - it's a much more family-oriented outfit, and I've never had a bad meal there. There's a little kiddies play area under the stairs, but it's not big and you can't lock them in there.

Good idea RellBell - was just thinking this morning that we should organise something.

Cheers!
Matto :)

Sharyn, you get to choose as the organiser and we will follow. Once we know were and when, I will send group PM.....

Reckon there's a better chance of getting a large group into the Bala..
As matto said, food is mid range, but brothers of late is quite average - 'buffet prison food' is a fairly apt description from last week.
Fullers sports (brothers) at edmonton could be a go... less central though.

There's a good large area at the Balaclava near the kids room that would be ideal

That's my thoughts

Mrs T & I have had some beaut lunches at the Tolga Hotel. Decor's nothing to write home about but the food was good.

Great to have had so many responses.
Thanks all for your input.
Yes, we did have a good time last year at the Balaclava, Matto,  and seeing that seems to be a fairly central spot,  reckon it's a good choice again.

So here we go  -    Sat 14th April  at the  Balaclava Hotel   at say,  7pm.

If we know how many bodies by say, the 4th April, then we can go ahead and make a booking.

Have I missed anything???

Cheers everyone,
Sharyn  :D

Crazy Dog

Cairns FNQ - I love poor little defenseless animals, especially in gravy.

I must show my lack of the local scene where is the Balaclava Hotel, as I am off 12-15 April a trip from Townsville to meet the troops would be great.
If you are not riding on the edge you are taking up to much room

Thanks teabag my cook will be away in Hervey Bay then but I will put some serious thought into it. The camper is overdue for a run since moving to Townsville late last year and everything has settled down.

Wot 'e said. From Townsville, head north. Can't miss it. If you hit the Esplanade, you've gone too far!

Will check with J, but for now pencil us in. 7pm on the 14th will be fantastic.

Cheers team!
