GU Rich

This sunday is the Wandin 4WD show at Wandin Vic.

http://www.victorian4wdshow.com.au/

This thread is a reminder and not a thread to bag out the location, the weather hot cold or otherwise or the exhibitors. I might head there again this year. If any swaggers are going post it up here and if I or anyone else does maybe they/we could meet up!

Cheers

Just be careful where you park and what you have in your vehicles. I had my IPFs stolen last year from the car park as did many others. Security is somewhat lacking in their car park area. Best bet is take the wife's car.

Otherwise it's a pretty good show

I've also heard of winch ropes free spooled off...

Lucky I have a steel cable nobody wants them  ;D

How many of these have you heard about?

I go most years and have mates who work the carpark as part of the CFA and I have never heard of the problems. I'm not saying it doesn't happen but I can park my GU in a carpark at a shopping centre for a week and nothing would be taken from it. I guess some people have no respect for there fellow 4Wdrivers...

Happens all the time there. Scour any forum after the show and countless reports of thefts, they even "beefed" security because of the problem, but to no avail.

Just don't take your 4wd with all the goodies on it and you'll be fine

I notice Michelin Australia are exhibiting. Can somebody ask them why they carry no BFG stock in AU?

Will you be on the huts stand Stevo?

Just looking about this year Rich,
I think they got enough helpers  :cup: ... although I'll still jump in and help out if needed.

Good luck gettibg out of the carpark, the weather forecast has turned nasty.

Cloudy. Isolated showers developing during the morning and the chance of a thunderstorm. Winds northwesterly and light tending southwesterly up to 30 km/h during the afternoon.

I just got home Wandin and I would say this was one of there biggest, plenty of camper trailer manufacturers there. You could even take a spin on a full comp spec GQ or dune buggy around a course over jumps etc.

The crowd numbers looked down a little by looking in the carpark, maybe this thread scared a few off..... And D4D there was no rain/thunderstorms/wind etc 8)

I feel it needs to become every 2yrs to keep it fresh, every year, its to much of the same thing you can see in ARB/TJM Mon-Fri..

was great when it was the place to go and see new ideas and inventions from small outfits, and business, now its just not that.

I'm going  to disagree there Bruce, there was/is a small number of small businesses there it's a good way to gain some exposure to the general public. I have a mate with a 4wdrivr workshop and he finds wandin very benificail for exposure.  Businesses can chat to customers first hand. I did just that when I was there. Anyone can sit on a computer and do research but I like going there to checkout the products hands on.

Like I mentioned earlier on this thread there were some different attractions there this year.

When was the last time you graced the paddocks of the wandin show?

Cheers

3-4 yrs ago now... I tried to get some people together to do a club trip, but there wasn't enough interest... infact zero :(
Most said similar things, with nothing new, no differences, and chances of gettin Shit flogged off their cars.

I like the concept of the show + its in the bush (not in a big concrete building)

I think it has the chance to be so much better than the "big" show, many think it already is, but this is just run by a club, not a large money making corp...
Maybe its a sign of the times, with less and less small companies being able to afford to go and less 'new' ideas aroudn...
Dunno.

Well I had a good time.

All three kids were pretty good with the promise of a ride of their choice .....'after Dad's had a look around.'

Nothing knocked off -  although the 'cruiser was parked right next to the entry lane so no chance of low lifes hiding low and taking stuff.

Finally got to check out a Camprite TL8 in the flesh - generally pretty happy with it still.   Some questions to follow up with Camprite.

And probably the best weather of any time I've been there over the last 5 years.
Manual petrol 105 series 'cruiser.
Aust. trailers semi off road trailer with Southern Cross Canvas tent, water, gas, kitchen and other stuff.

sako

Agreed it was great to finally see a camprite at a Victorian show.
18 months too late for me though.
