Has anyone seen / brought the new evakool fridge / freezer yet ... the charcoal looking fridge with separate compartments .
Just wondering as I'm in need of a fridge in the next few days .

schmik

Sorry to take it off topic but... What is the difference between the white fridge/freezer and the yellow one. They see identical except for one looks plastic and the other looks fiberglass.

The new grey one does not state it is Aussie made and also uses a different brand compressor to the other two. Has a two year warranty instead of 5. Looks like a cheaper unit but it may last well.  I'd love to know if it is any good.

White one is better if it is hotter ambient. That's all I know

Hi
If you are talking about there TravelMate range i have had one one for nearly 2 years.
Has been a great fridge except turn it on to use over Christmas and it didn't work. It usually takes next to no time to cool down
from off to about -1 degrees. Had it on overnight with a carton of beer in it and in the morning it was still hot.
Took it to a local warranty repair agent for Evakool they diagnosed the problem being the compressor had failed.
The next day i got phone call from them that Evakool will replace the fridge with a new unit.
I would buy another one in a heart beat am actually thinking of buying one of their smaller units as mine is the 60Lt.
I have a 120amp AGM battery on our campertrailer and i can get about 4-1/2 days out of the battery running the fridge and a couple of LED lights of it. They are also very quiet too we have our sitting outside our window at the head of our bed and you cant hear it cut in and out.
Overall very happy and would recommend them.

I was looking at the Evacool also. My Engel has failed after 22 years. I repaired it the other day but it only lasted 3 days and is back to having transistor problems, So it can stay as a beer fridge in the shed.

The Evacool gives 5 years waranty which is well above and beyond the others. I am also looking at the eutectic fridge too.

I have a 70l yellow one about 5 years now
and a 47l white one about 6 months

Both great fridges and seem to work just as good as each other which is better you've got me  ???

Beers always cold happy camper

I would go for the white fibreglass ones as the esky version ( which is the same without refridgerator) are a good bit of gear. The only down side is that they came be prone to damage compared to the yellow ones.

Why do people ask "What the hell were you thinking?"
Obviously I was thinking I was going to get away with it and not have to explain it....

Do you have a link for this? I can't find them on the Evakool site and on the Australian Direct they have 92L ones for $999.
Cheers,

I am wondering if that is a typo. That is a dual zone. Bloody good buy if it is correct it still has a 5 year waranty. You watch it will be 1600 by the time I save up enough. I only have 300 so far.

Nah just had a closer look the dimensions are different. The eva kool is 790 long 465 deep by 615 high and the luna one is 835L x 485 D x 635H. Throw me out with the luna because it is 5mm too deep. But then again the HUGE price difference throws it out anyway. I would love to know why they have such a huge price gap even in comparison with the engel.

went to use our travelmate fridge for the 2nd time last weekend and it was as dead as a door nail. tried 12v and 240v and no power to the fridge. called evakool on Monday and discovered that where the power lead goes into the fridge has to go a certain way to work and it can be plugged in the wrong way (which is what i done). turned the lead around and i had power....won't let that happen again
