Hi all,

I've been searching the web looking for a suitable country town away from the coast to spend New Year's Eve (and a few days either side) that offers camping with dog and a NYE party but without much success.

Essentially 2 humans & 1 dog want to go camping where we can walk or ride our push bikes to town, shop, eat and enjoy the sites AND where - come New Year's Eve - there will be some kind of party, dance or whoop dee doo such as bush dance in the street or park.

As I live near Coffs Harbour NSW, I was hoping for something West or North West of here in NSW or else something North of here in SE Queensland. Ideally 4-5 hours drive but that could stretch to 6-7 if it sounded good enough.

Is there any such thing? Or am I just being totally unrealistic, and in this day and age it's a case of 'sit at home with a beer in hand and watch the Sydney fireworks on TV' like it or lump it?

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Thanks & please write soon - Wayne

Nindigully pub QLD has huge NYE celebrations.
X a lot.  You should see the fireworks there.  They hook up one the size of a small car , and watch it go into damned near orbit.  Big fun.
MK Triton Dual Cab.
Cheap gal trailer with some stuff added.

Thanks for the tips Gents. I shall investigate and submit my finding to 'Head Office'.

A Google Map search on Nindigully pub revealed a place where 'not enough to do' should not be a problem. In fact sounds bloody great for camping & NYE!

Camerons Corner - Any more information on this? Is that the SA, NSW & Qld border type Camerons Corner or the Piliga one in NSW. I'm surprised that either one has a pub to be honest.

Any more suggestions?

Cheers & beers - Wayne

Camerons Corner is the NSW,SA,QLD one. I have been there 3 times and the beer is always cold  ;D
With 3 different time zones you will be able to celebrate NYE 3 times, It will be very hot out there with plenty of flies too! If your going there you will need to be prepared for hot desert conditions.

'Hot & plenty of flies'. Sounds very tempting eh? Besides IF I got this wrong then the Navigator & Chief Advisor would never go camping again.  :-[

So far the Nindigully pub sounds the best bet.

The boss is in the office now & I'll take her on a Google Map tour to see what she reckons.  :-*
