Pity that they aren't very tough at all.

I work for a company that does a lot of work through the Gascoyne, Pilbara and Mid-west and the amount of issues we have had with so called tough Hiluxes is unbelievable. Front diffs, rear diffs, rear axle seals, gear boxes, turbo after a shallow water crossing and even an engine after only a couple of thousand km's.
Wouldn't have one if I was paid. Once upon a time they were great, now they are just POS

If that company you work for was on this forum, their post might be something along these lines......

May I just add, before you pull into me, I drive a Jeep. Never owned a Toyota. Just having a bit of fun..... on a very quiet Friday.

Haha most of our driver's are on the wrong side of 35 (I'm 38 personally) and we are speed limited when off the black top by satellite tracking so that if we go over 80 the company can sack us depending on the severity. In some area's the speed is down to 60. Fact is that despite all of Toyota's Hilux propaganda they are crap. Only reason we went to them was the provision of airbags but now that the Landcruiser utes have airbags we are going back to them. Least they don't break as easily.
