Gents,

I'm after a 12 v flood light to hook onto the dual battery when out camping.

Can someone suggest  best value for money looking to spend $100.

Ebay seems to be flooded with plenty of them, just don't know where to start - can anyone recommend brands to pick/stay clear off for the money.

Thanks

David

(BTW its for camping/fishing/dinner)

I was thinking a "flood" light would be like a huge capacity 'flood' light used in football fields, if so, I have a $19, 240v, halagen flood light that I connect to my inverter and it lights up an area well beyond where I need to be seeing.
(You get them from Bunnnings)
if it's just the normal 'camping' light then I use a 12v light I made up from a 240v light frame with 12v globe and lead, it also gives terrific light too ;D

Hi David

I bought one of these off of ebay, mounted it to an extendable painting pole and it works great.

I use Vision X Solstice Solo pod. A single 10w LED. IIRC 0.8a draw, around 830 lumens and basically bullet proof. Might be just a tad more than $100 ($119 plus shipping) as a one off but I get excellent pricing from my supplier and had a couple left over from another project. I've just designed a bracket to hold two of them which slides on to an existing fitting on my Tvan.

Versalite

x2 OR one of these: http://www.ironman4x4.com/html/ultralight.html

Plus I'd suggest one of these:

as they're very versatile (you can even attach them to tree branches).
You can get them with round ends (instead of rectangle) to fit round handled lights.

'E4WD' on the forum here sell's the lot...

I'm not so good with advice... can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?

I am pretty sure ARB sell the versalite one in a LED design. About $100 too.

Might draw a little less power.

They do have a LED version but my eyes don't like LED so I stick to the old fluro.

Got a couple ARB adventure light fluro and a cheapo Super Crap LED, both good lights but i prefer the fluro.
