Overall I made $4 profit - better than making a loss I suppose.

I had two out of the three for the trifecta too - but got nothing for it.

I heard on the radio that someone backed Americaine for $5million - I don't think that person would be having a good day now!

i had 1st, 3rd and fourth in my trifecta  :'( :'(

For the second year in a row I've done the same as you!  Thank goodness it's the only time of the year that I have a bet, otherwise I'd have to drink more (and I don't know if that's at all possible)

Came home with $50.50 extra in my pocket from the TAB.
Came home Even Stevens on the sweep at work, but with a belly full of chicken and salads.

So a good day in all I believe.

In all the time I've bet my $30 on the race each year, I haven't often gone home empty handed.  I usually bum out totally on the sweeps so a tenner goes to waste there most years.

Not as lucky as a listener on triple m up here he won the right to pick a horse and put $10000 on the nose wasn't to sure which horse out of 9 so he put the 9 names in a hat pull out dunaden and won for himself $87 500 not bad return considering it cost him nothing.

About the same as my first, second and fifth.  That would have paid a packet had it got up tho!

Reminds me of the time the wife and kids and myself  all put in a horse for a boxed trifecta about ten years ago.  Sent the wife of to put the bets on.

Race time,  Yep, first, second, third, YOU BEAUTY!!!!!!!

Wife arrives back, has about $250 in winnings.

My question to her - What about the trifecta's?

Her response - what trifetca's?

My query - the one you were supposed to put on with those 4 horses we chose.

Her response - I only backed them each way.

My response - went over to the pub and had a stiff drink - The trifecta paid $20,000 with 4 live units.  Ive never let her put a bet on for me since.
