Was in the supermarket today and on the counter was a petition to keep the Pieman Heads 4x4 track open. The track runs from Granvile Harbour to Pieman Heads. I have done this track quite a few times and it is amazing. Sadly from what I have herd (being a local) the track is going to be closed no matter what. So if you want to see it do it before February, I would be more than happy to take some people down there.

Here are some pics from a trip a little while back ( It really is a beautiful place)

So yeah after February she will be gated off  :'(

I haven't seen any of Tas since moving here 18 months ago.

How full on is it?

I just have a stock standard ST D40 Dual Cab Navara.

Any place to put the Swan Outback up?

Cheers

Last time I done it I had a 88 GQ double diff locked, 35's, 7"lift, now I have a standard GU with 32's I would do it but she would be a challange ;D. As for the Swan,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,no ;D

I worked on the Pieman dam many many moons ago. Spent a bit of time hitting the tracks around there after shifts.
I see there is a sealed road now from the dam back to Zeehan, that would have saved going through Rosebery, had a few scaring moments in winter on that road.

Hi,
How serious is the track these days?
I had a look on Google Earth, and there seem to be shacks at the heads, so I'm presuming it shouldn't be ridiculous.
Our 4wd club is doing a trip around the West over the December holidays, but I'm not sure what their program is yet.
cheers

It's not that bad,,,,,,,,,,, there are 2 tracks to take to get there once you get past the beach the inland track and the coast track, I would personally take the coast road. Some locals take the boat from Corina to Pieman heads.
