Will be travelling to Brisbane around Christmas time and we are thinking of overnighting at or near Childers after seeing some friends in Bundy. I have had a search but can't find anything. Does anyone have recommendations for camp grounds or caravan parks in the Childers area? Not after anything too fancy as we'll only be there for the night, just would like something that is ok and not too much highway noise, or noise from generators if we are free camping.

Cheers

Mate,

Have a look here:-

We live just down the road from this park and its a lovely quiet spot. About half an hour south of Childers.

Excellent facilities.

There is a free camp in Gin Gin worth considering. Just on the northern approach to the township with heaps of room for an overnighter with clean toilets.

Cheers.

We just went up north for a driving holiday and spent our first night out of Brisbane at a place camped at a place called Lake Monduran (Just outside Gin Gin) http://lakem.com.au/home/camping-and-caravans/information

8 kms off the highway so nice and quite, very clean toilet/shower block and very nice camp kitchen, so would definitely go back there again.

Thanks to everyone for their ideas. I had a look at them and some look very nice for a stay. My concern is doing a 1 night stay just before christmas when lots of places will be busy and have minimum stay periods. Anyway, we decided to start travelling a little earlier in the day and stop with some friends at Gympie.
