Hey All,
I seen an add for "The hose Bag" in this months CTA magazine looks like a handy little bag to tidy up the water hose and power cable birds nests has anyone got these and do they work?

Yeah, I have one and work fine but I'm now looking at a flat hose on a hose reel.

We bought ours from the markets a while ago. We have 2. The only thing i would suggest to make it better would be to have a small hole in the middle so you can connect both ends without having to pull the whole hose out of the bag to use. It does make it so the hose doesn't go everywhere and you dont have to pull the electrical tape out every time to pack it back up.

I have a flat out hose reel from Flat out international.

Very easy and incredibly quick to use.  I also have two of there reels for my extension cords. No more tangles :cup:

We too have a hosebag, has about 20m of hose in it, and is a good way to store/keep the hose under control and here is video to show you how put the hose in the bag (amazing whats on youtube! This guy actually makes it look harder than it is!

I have one of these and hate it. I found rolling it into the bag to be painful and quite slow. If the hose is dirty (think red dirt) you're arms and hands will be filthy by the end of it. With the water hose it has a natural recoil which is about twice the size of the bag, so you're almost fighting it.

Now I have a piece of 2.5mm building wire that holds the hose together on it's natural recoil shape. Takes 1/10th of the time to roll up though it is twice as big.

Flat out are ok for water but not sullage, when you wind them in all the crap inside comes out the end as the hose is compressed on the reel.

Not only that but I find that the sullage does not flow that well through the flat hose.  I am about to discard ours for the traditional style sullage.

Funnily enough, I find this a big plus. It makes sure all the "crap" in the hose is removed every time you put it away. I used to have the corrugated style and after a while they stank as bits of crap got caught in the corrugations, stayed there and then went off.

But I do find you have to be careful when laying them out, makes sure they don't kink over or they can take forever to drain.

Hey danbri, silly question but do you have a photo of your set up currently all i use is a shoelace to tie the bundle together just looking to tidy it up.

Thanks

I just coil my hose into my shower tent bag ... I don't even tie it up at all.  I have a fold up lie-lo in there as well (folds up like the shower tent).

My mother in law makes these and sells them as they travel around to caravan parks all over the place. I reckon they're super handy, and like the idea of a small hole so you can leave as much in the bag as you wish.

The MIL is away for a few weeks, but I'm sure I can get her to run up a bunch of them if anyone's keen. I think she's been charging $15.

Wat Danbri said, i found them a pain in the bum, i went to supercheap and bought a bag of those elastic loops with a ball on the end, use them as a tie type loop, keeps the hose altogethor and takes half the time.
