I just bought these from a guy on the Patrol4x4 forum. They are bloody amazing.

With them mounted on the roof, are you finding any issues with reflection from the front bar?
How do they go with depth perception? I've seen several reviews commenting that the light bars really seem to wash out the depth and make it harder to judge distances.

On my mates 100 series the only real reflection was the UHF aerial on the bullbar.  As for depth perception, I didn't notice anything strange but we were testing it in the high country and we both want light suitable foir driving windy tracks with lots of ups and downs.  We both have HID lighforces for highway type driving...

I am yet to do a long drive with them but have two so they are pointed slightly out to the sides mainly for track lighting and to light up the edge where the roos come from.

I can see that if you had this much light directly in front, one it might light up the roo bar and second wash out the headlights. I have tried to mount mine so they are low to the roof and avoid lighting up the bonet and roobar, but there is still a bit of spread lighting glow.

I also have HID headlights, HID fog lights with a lower K (warm colour light) and HID Lightforce XGT for long distance lighting. All up it gives a very good spread of light and great distance. I can switch each set of lights individually so can adjust lighting to suit as I am out on long night drives.

I followed a guy on Wednesday night who had a 30" Rigid Industries LED light bar fitted to his roofrack with a smaller version under that.  The light emitted from these things was impressive to say the least, and this was at highway speed not poking around in the bush.

Each to their own I suppose, but I like them. I have a 34" on my bull bar, but I do have three 50W HID's too (2 Pencil beam and 1 Euro beam). I have a lot of bull bar room to fit them.

They are great for highway and much better for bush driving.

I have seen some junk ones on the market though.

Well they have already dropped by about that now there are so many being imported.
I first looked at the lights same as what Monsta lights in link above have. Saw these at a Caravan, camping & 4x4 show, they were well over a grand for a small 18 or 22" light bar.


I got the same thing as the Monsta lights for $500. Still a lot of money for lights but as you say, they will keep getting cheaper.  Free samples sound even better.

Personally, they are way over priced for what they are, sure, the LED's are high powered, but once you shine the light into space it looses its intensity, so, therefor it must be shined into the ground or nearby surroundings, there are alot of cheap stuff coming in from China that you must be weary about but, also there is some great quality also from China, how do you know which one is the right one, easy, grab a hammer and smash the lens, If it breaks, its only plastic, if it doesnt ,its polycarbonate, this will give you some sort of indication that the components that make up these LED light bars are some what reasonably good quality.
I am a big fan of HID's I want light so that I can see, Light bars are not for everyone and nor are the HID's, do your homework and dont jump into it cause Bazza down the road has them.
