1.72 Euro that is, or $2.37 aud a litre based on australias high dollar. Even worse when the aud was much weaker. (or euro was stronger)

That is current standard price in Netherlands. (not on motorways etc) from 2 days ago.

Other day, crossed from Germany back to Poland again just to take fuel, a 5km round trip. (2.2 km each way) saved 0.37c a litre.
1.25 in Poland. (actually 5 Zloty) and 1.62 just across border in Germany.

14l/100km in our old campervan.

Chunk it really a matter of where you look at it from . If you have just rolled in to Camerons  , pulled at the pump ,,,,,, GULP ,,,,,,, then what choise do you have  . If you dont have it & want it , dig deep  .

On a recent trip I was travelling on the Stuart Hwy in NT and fueled at the Renner Springs Roadhouse.  I paid $2.05 per lit and as I went to pay was surprised (and cheesed off) to note diesel at another pump was only $1.85    Apparently they provide diesel from two different suppliers.

Same here, but only topped up the Patrol, so not such a big hit...........
