A product is worth what someone is willing to pay for it...........

ARB make top gear and like any other business, are there to make a profit.
A healthy profit from a well run quality business offering a quality product is nothing unusual.

Sure there will be the odd disgruntled customer, but I don't often hear complaints about ARB. In fact quite the opposite.
Good luck to them. I have bought their products for over 14 years and will continue to do so and recommend them.

Good product and despite them making a profit its for a good price too......

Usual disclaimer....blah blah blah................

I didn't notice this thread quick enough to see the price list but if 40% is their maximum margin then their gear is cheap! Remember that this is the gross margin that the store makes on the product; then out of this groos margin the store owner has to pay wages, super, rent, advertising, insurance, telephones, registrations, training etc etc - get the picture? Anyway, even if they were making 200% margin and as a consumer I am happy to pay for the product then good luck to them. I have no problem with a business making money. Sorry to rant.

I wouldn't be picking on ARB too much..  They are not the only ones...

When looking around for trail bike parts we found the same with BarkBuster Hand Guards that are made in Aust.   We could buy them a lot cheaper with postage from the UK.  We just approached my local dealer and said we can get them for x from the UK, what can you do them for.   They knocked a lot off so they were within $15 of the UK ones so we spent our dollars locally..

Time to print off the internet price and let the locals compete....   For a few extra dollars it's better to keep you money here...

I agree but I wonder how much the locals will drop.

I priced Cooper ST Maxx tyres at the Adelaide Caravan and Camping Show which was on this weekend at $428ea - cheapest I've found on the net is US$219.

In saying that a Timbuk2 backpack that I wanted was at Anaconda for $120 and I found it on the net for US$79.  Anaconda were good enough to match that - and we both agreed that we would forget about the exchange rate.
