Hi all,

Looking for a recommendation for a place to have some canvas work done in Sydney. Found on the weekend half of one of the zips has been put on the wrong way (stop end is at the end you need to start the zip) making it impossible to use so need to have it removed and sewn back on.

Thanks.

I will if I can't find someone local. Either way the manufacturer is paying for the work.

Hutchie, Danbri would've been my first choice as they usedf to be only 15min from my place and have had work from them before but they're several hours north now and if I'm going to courier, it may as well go back to the manufactuer in Melb.

I'd have thought the company doing the canvas would be paying courier either way.. its their stuff up!

If Dan is too far I've used Nan's Tarps at Lidcombe to repair a zipper on my swag.
Excellent job at a reasonable price.

They will but it's easier for me if I can just drop it off somewhere local rather than try and package it up for a courier to handle and then the hassle of it possibly being damaged in transit (even if insured it means time).

I've driven by Nan's a couple of times as it's not far from work. Never heard of the other two but appreciate the suggestions. Any others or seconds for these?

I asked this of Danbri a few weeka ago and his reply was:

"In Sydney, I would suggest a friend - Robert at the Canvas Workshop in Clyde (right near the parra road/james ruse drive intersection). His number is 96377916. Tell him I sent you. Robert is a little Fijian fella, he doesn't charge like the others and does reasonable work."

I just used him to make up a couple of end walls for my small awning.
His quality service and price were good, and I would certainly use him again.

Cheers
Parry

Thanks Parry. If Dan thinks he's OK then he should be and that's on my way to work.

I'll look into a few of these, thanks all.
