G'day fellow campers,

I'm doing some homework on the positive pressure air vents used to help with the dust issues with the Jaycos. I've used the search button for mixed responses.
I have a basic type of vent set up on the canopy of my Hilux, the positive pressure theory definitely works with that.I've had it in extremely dusty conditions with bugga all dust making it's way into the canopy.
I just want to be sure I put the best possible vent into the camper first time around.
What's the best type/brand of vent?
Any issues with rain coming in the vents?
Where can I purchase them?

Any advise greatly appreciated.

Hi Swogjb
I used SeaBird air vent purchased from Whitworths marine supplies .
Inside I used a pod air filter from Supercheap .The filter struggles with looks department but works very well .
Wife will make a cover for it .
They are connected with plumbing fittings from Bunnings .
We also cover Fridge and door vents while traveling .
So far ,no dust . No water .
Cheers Paul
PS Must be cold down in the southeast .

Thanks Paul,
I'll see if I can buy the vent in Mt Gambier.

Cold.....it's bloody freezing.
But that's the sunny south east in winter time.

Hi Glenn,

You can buy it online at https://www.whitworths.com.au/main_itemdetail.asp?item=92555&search123=+SeaBird&intAbsolutePage=1.

I ended up ordering the Hurricane Vent from Whitworths.
Now for the nerve wracking bit of cutting a hole in the roof :o :o
Was thinking a  jigsaw might be the way to go....... Any suggestions?

I tested both seabird and hurricane vents. Went with the seabird, let in loads more air, which is the aim of the project and they don't allow water ingress.
I bought a fairly cheap holesaw set and cut 2 very neat holes easily to fit my 2 vents.
