I was wondering what you guys do to prevent  >:(stone chips >:( on the guards. I have a Camel fitted with a stone guard, but after a couple of dirt road trips have notice stone chips on both guards ad the pole carrier. Was thinking to put a couple of alluminium patches on on the guards. Any ideas??

this will help mate,

I got some chequer plate rubber from clark rubber, cut it up and stuck it to the front of the pole boxes, front edge of the guards and front outside edges of the tool box. Works really well

hey mate there are many things you can do to prevent stone damage to you camper
like if you go to a body shop you can buy some under car body sound deadner, paint it on where the main effected areas are let it dry into a rubber like texture then respray the trailer like new and bob your uncle or you could fork out a small fortune and get the trailer covered in that rhino skin stuff
if you pick at it, it won't heal

thanks for the tip Blackstump, what did you stick the rubber on with, was it just a contact adhesive?

I just used timber flooring glue mate, similar to liquid nails. Just smeared it on not to thick tho, let it start to go off, and press it on. That stuff sticks to anything.

I thought with the rubber rather than alli checker plate, it would be easier to work with.

i used checker plate on the bits that would get smashed by the stones, it seems to hold up a bit better. and has a nice chrome/flashy look.
