32 more sleeps to go till I and 5 other families travel to the tip of this great country of ours. 6 weeks from Sydney back to Sydney. Taking in Cairns, Daintree, Lions Den for a cold one, Cooktown, Elim beach,chilli Beach, The Tele Track the Tip, Thursday Island & Vyrilla Point. I'll be Sure to put up a trip report when I return.

Make sure you check the Bloomfield crossing is open before you head up the coast.http://www.racq.com.au/travel/Maps_and_Directions/road_conditions From what I can gather it will be a long time before they repair the crossing. Might have to head inland to Cooktown and take the turnoff to the Lions Den (6kms from the turnoff) and well worth the visit

I have been checking the road reports for the last week. We will do what ever we have to do in our travels we are very flexable in our movements as I think you have to be with a trip like this.
