Hi guys. Whilst I was vacuuming the sand out of the Patrol after a trip up the Cooloola coast, I knocked off a plastic cover and out dropped an old Zippo lighter box, with emergency money written on it.  I opened it up and found $200 cash    you little rippa!

Wondering if any other My swaggers have found any "surprises" in there 2nd hand 4wd.

Not money in the truck, but in my first car, i found $450 in an envelope for regio, which fell behind the glove box into the vent fan.

Seeing as i payed 1k for the car, it's a bargain

Unfortanately not me but one of my mates had an old Escort(car) that he was going to do up but didnt(had it in the back yard for about 5yrs), sold it for $200. The new owners started doing it up and while stripping off the liners in the boot(I believe somewhere near the filler neck) they found a bag of cash, $3500......and no they didnt give it back.

Mate bought a second hand 3500 Rover many years ago.  nice car, upgraded V8, all the good gear. Whilst vacuuming the front seats he heard a small "splat" as something landed in the cleaner bin.  Being an inquisitive sod, he emptied the cleaner bin and found a diamond as big as the finger nail on your little finger at the bottom.  When he rang the previous owner (he was stuuuupid also) they told him he had found the long lost rock of the wifes engagement ring. Insurance Value prevously paid out ( in the early 90's ) was $18,000.  They took the rock back without offering any reward!!

When he asked my what i woulda done, I said at least you can sleep soundly at night, not like some other &%$@s!!

the rock was not theirs to take back, they had been paid for it. It belongs to insurance company first, or your mate.

Bought an old rangie once with a cronic oil leak, talked the guy down $5K as he believed the motor needed the bottom end rebuilt, in the end I decided to do something about the Landrover anti rust system and found out the leak was only loose sump bolts, leak fixed, ::) but couldn't come to telling the old owner, even when we dropped back a very large bag of green stuff  :o :police: we found behind one of the rear speakers, probably explained why that speaker wasn't performing the best as the sound was being somewhat muffled :cup:

Might explain why the music was a couple of bars behind the other speakers....or why Country and Western sounded like Jimmy Hendrix.... ;D
