What do u recommend to put on the ground under the annex to protect the floor from rough surfaces and general wear and tear....

TIA

We use cheap shade cloth from Crazy Clarks or similar. My wife bought some of those you-beaut rubber interlocking tiles but they take up alot of room so we haven't used them yet.

I know they sell some very nice matting at camping shows with holes for pegs but I don't really see the use. We have been using the same cheap shade cloth for over 5 years and driving pegs into it without any worry.

Most camping world stores have a shade cloth tarp that you can get in various sizes and also it's cheaper then the equilivent size in shade cloth
Ours was about $60 for a 6mx2.4m for under our awning. Oztrail or Outdoor connection make them

This thread just keeps popping up - under different names of course.

CGear matting, and before the haters start, no its not just shade cloth.

We have used ours constiantly for 2 years and stll think it is one of the best things we have bought for our camper.

We have never ripped or torn it, touch wood, and never get any crap inside the tent - even on the beach.

We have even spilt hot oil on it from the stove and it just washes out.

And it worked out cheaper than the rubberised annex matting.

We have one length that worked out perfectly  to be used as a ground sheet for the tent and also for the annex floor.

Just my 2 cents.

I wouldn't use Cgear under the tent/floor as you need to put pegs through it.

I would use a Cgear for out the front of the camper.

we dont have to put pegs through it - maybe it depends on the camper??  ???

Hi

Having a Cub Escape there is no tent floor for it to go under, It (Cgear Multimat) is used as the annex floor.

We have just used the shade cloth under our CT and it worked a treat.

Best thing is that we got it as a remnant at Bunnings for $5 a metre. We didnt peg it down, we just put our tent up over the top and pegged where needed on the CT.

My sister in law bought the same stuff, but went a step further and hemmed it then put rings on it for pegging.

Off to check the Cgear now...

Empty beer cartons lol, takes dedication to get enough to make a floor though. But if you drink to slow C mat is good (it is what I use). Seriously I treat mine like crap and it has stood up to the test of time, yes it is more expesive but you can treat it like crap and it will stand up to it.
