Just a querey about the Ranger, can you engage low range without having it in 4WD??

No, but you can throw a switch in to disconnect the electronic hubs. Takes about 10 minutes.

Thanks, I'll pass that on, he has a 2200kg van and was concerned about his clutch when manouvering it around and up his driveway in high range.

Baz,

There is a way, check the BT50 section of the 4WD Action web site...does not take that long [I think].

If reversing with any sort of weight it is really needed as the Ranger/BT50 gearbox is a weak piece of $hit.
